Casadó is cover for Bernal, arguably better. Still, Fermín Lopez and whenever DeJong and Gavi are back that is enough cover. Jeez, not such a big drama - unless your name is Marc Bernal.

Casado is not the same player as Bernal. It's Bad need because we only currently have Pedri and Casado to play in the double pivot and we shouldn't be playing Pedri every minute of every game either.

Don't let the good early start under Flick get your hopes up Culers. We're a catastrophe waiting to happen. This transfer window has been beyond horrendous and the team will suffer as a result. We were supposed to STRENGHTEN and BUILD on last season. We were all dreaming of a new LW and a new DM. Not even the most expensive ones in world football. Just decent and competent signings that would strengthen those areas. Nico Williams for 60 million and Merino wasn't too much too ask imo. But instead of strengthening the squad a little bit we have severely weakened it. Our only signings is Dani Olmo who we can barely register and 21 year old Girona B/Barca B player Pau Victor. Meanwhile we have lost: Gundogan, Cancelo, Felix, Marc Guiu, Roque, Romeu. So we have gained 1 player who will be playing regularly (Olmo) and lost around 4 players who were regulars last season (Gundo, Cancelo, Felix and Romeu). And we have lost our only back ups to Lewandowski in Roque and Guiu without replacing them. The defensive midfield or deep lying midfield role was an area of need already, and we have weakened it by getting rid of Gundogan. Gavi and Frenkie are still not back, and who knows when they will actually be back. And even then Frenkie has proven he can't be relied upon. Always injured. We were already forced to use two 17 year olds in Cassado and Bernal because of this issue. And now Bernal is done for the season. There is literally ZERO defensive midfielders/pivots currently in this side aside from the 17 year old Cassado who won't be able to handle that workload all by himself and will be ran into the ground. Even Christensen is injured so that option is also gone. Pedri is not a defensive midfielder and doesn't have the intensity and physicality required for that role. It's a good thing we won our first 3 league games and built a small lead early on. But I don't think we can sustain it with this thin of a squad. RM and Atletico have options and quality players in their starting 11s and on the bench. They're just playing poorly rn but once they figure things out they'll be up and running. Meanwhile Barca is about 2 bad results away from a serious crisis as the knives will come out and confidence will dip. And because of the thin squad and amount of games, I fully expect more injuries to pile up. We're 1 or 2 more injuries away from a total disaster. If Pedri goes down any time soon or Lewandowski at striker or Yamal we're finished. How the board could let it get this bad is beyond me.

Cant argue with alot of your points. Casado is 20 so i do hope his age will somehow be in favor of him not being too young to take on more load. Fermins gonna just have to be our box to box with casado and pedri. Have the front three with ferran, raphinha lamine pauv victor and olmo. Only two can rest or sub in essentialy so we're so thin. Tooo thin. In all areas. More injuries are def coming. Probs pull pau prim from la masia as another temp dm for us tbh

@@qt1051 Makes me angry because Flick is actually a good coach who can drill this team to play efficiently. The club has given him nothing to work with and tied his hands. Then predictably when things go south because of the injuries and lack of options in the squad he will likely receive all the blame along with the handful of senior players. I can see it coming from a mile away. I hope I'm wrong though and that we keep going strong and win some trophies this season. But the depth of the squad is extremely worrying imo. And that's before we even get into the Tebas and the league trying to sabotage us with these refs so that Papa Perez CF can win the league and new cash cow Mbappe can win pichichi. They were panicking after Madrid's poor start that's why they appointed Manzano. Barca won the last game despite their best efforts to sabotage the result.

I agree with you. I don’t think we’ve improved, personnel wise, compared to last season. That’s why, while everyone is getting hyped, I still think our goal should be to finish top 3 in La Liga and try to go as far as we can in the CL. I hope Flick is given the room to build something, and that they actually support him in the transfer window next season
