African Americans do have their own subculture within America...all of the minorities do. We have our own Universities ( over 100 of them). Heck, quite often African American subculture informs American culture since they are constantly borrowing language, style of dress. In fact, when I went to Asia, I was astonished of how much mimicry of African Americans goes on around the world, especially in Korea. Our swag is mass produced around the world. Give credit where credit is due. We love our African brothers and sisters, but don’t minimize us and make us less than we are.

@nomfunekonosilela38954 жыл бұрын
@@TheDtfamu89 Then please make sure you push those positives more because the music videos that we see most of them don't add value to the soul: over sexualusation of women, unsavoury language and plain materialistic attitudes that prioritise consumerism to the detriment of many people. African Americans are the only group that refer to their women using the B word and think it's cool then they get so mad when those women they are trying so hard to degrade find love and respect somewhere else. We aspire to different values in Africa and our culture is centred on respect. We have young girls and boys who are still very impressionable and it's our duty and responsibility to teach them better so they can do better especially because the internet has widened the exposure and accessibility of so many things, some people are not matured enough when viewing such content they end up thinking that is how one should live. We should always be mindful to make sure that we change the narrative and never miss an opportunity to teach positive things
