Hi, You're right, a combination will always work better with big ring, due to the "polygonal effect". What's in the "box" behind the seat tube?

you could use ceramic jockey wheels on that sram 1x because sram admitted that the narrow wide jockeys on the derailleur dont help with chain tension in any way which is why there not on the newer groupsets
@ronykuba7 жыл бұрын
J Williams I have Ceramicspeed jockey wheels in there. The clutch is the main feature of the derailleur.

Awesome bike! You've thought as far, far more than most... but I feel compelled to offer suggestion for further potential gains as I'm sure you'd be interested :) 1. Tri-spoke front wheel? Look at Hed's offerings. 2. Do you use a No-pinz trip suit? As you probbably know they have trip sockz, trip overshoes etc. as well - some of which are banned in some competitions! 3. Tidy/shorten that rear gear cable with the big loop a little ;) 4. What is you tyre-wheel interface like? I know some people who add glue to this area if there is a small trough to improve aerodynamics. 5. Depending on the course, road surface you can risk quite a bit with tyre choice. TT-specific tyres, can even try to run track tyres /v. v. low rolling resistance) on perfect surfaces outside but this is very very risky! 6. Do smaller crank lengths allow you to get in a more aero position? This means your knees will not come up as far at the top of the pedal stroke so your body can get lower and/or flatter. But your set-up is fantastic!
@ronykuba7 жыл бұрын
George Corbin thanks for the comment. 1.) I don't think a tri spoke would be faster, as they are only made as tubulars, which are worse in both aero and rolling resistance. 2. My trip suit is arriving this week 3. this is the ideal length for smooth shifting, shortening it wouldn't really decrease the frontal area. 4. With Zipp clinchers, tire interface is perfect 5. Vittoria Corsa Speed - fastest tire available, and still quite sturdy 6. I already run 170mm cranks. Not extreme but shorter than normal.

Taken from HED's website "The H3 is available in either full carbon tubular, or a clincher version with alloy braking surface. Both feature the same blade shape and 55mm deep rim section."
@ronykuba7 жыл бұрын
xscott902x an alloy clincher with a fairing is even less aerodynamic than a tubular
@xscott902x7 жыл бұрын
I've read pretty extensively on this subject and while this can be true of traditional spoked wheels with fairings at deeper depths this is largely due to where the spoke(which extends past the faring all the way to the alloy outer rim) meets up with the edge of the fairing. I have yet to see any data suggesting this is the case for tri spoke style wheels such as the H3 if you have some actual data to back this up I'd love to see it. The H3 clincher is a full carbon wheel with an alloy rim bonded to it and has the same aerodynamic profile as its full carbon counterpart and tires should mate to the rim much the same way as they would any other clincher rim.

Hello, I have the Trek Speed Concept 7.5 with the SRAM Force Mechanical 11 Speed, I want to add the Quarq spider powermeter to this. What are my options? I am a bit confused regarding the Bottom Bracket which seems to be incompatible with the normal quarq power meters

You should use a narrow wide ring when running 1x systems, even with a clutch derailleur you are risking a dropped chain. That would cost you many seconds haha.

thank you for the answer. Nice bike you have. I have one TT bike quintana roo tequilo 2002. Crank is 53/39 and have 9 speeds cassette 12-25. sounds good setup for TT bike or i should look for bigger chainrings and different cassette?
@ronykuba7 жыл бұрын
Haralabos Lukatos if you average more than 45 km/h on most courses, then a bigger ring will be more efficient. A TT cassette should definitely have a 11t cog.

my average speed is never was 45km. I wish i can do that. And i have stop ride for around 3 years. I work full time job after that most of my days after work i fix people bikes. But now i want ride again.

Your extensions are so far apart your hands can't touch. I used to have mine the same way. Now my hands meet close together and with a bottle in between creates a better wind pocket to hide behind
