Great video Paul. Many of the ones you picked are my favorites as well. We can’t forget the companies that created the vintage soaps, razors, splashes and what not that propelled the shaving industry to what it is now. I know from my own experience that when I use something vintage it truly makes me appreciate all the shaving gear I have. Thanks for sharing all that greatness. Wishing you all the best.

Good morning Paul! Always good to see your top 5 (or so) shaving products. I have a soft spot for vintage razors, blades, brushes, soaps, and aftershaves. Those products are most often made to perform and/or last a lifetime. We have common ground on many of these items: Gillette Slim Adjustable razor, Personna Med Prep blades, Graydog brush, Old Spice soap and aftershave, MWF, and PAA CaD scent (I have the soap). All your products are top shelf. I just wish you could sample my vintage Williams soaps and Ice Blue Aqua Velva...so good...it's a sin what they have become when compared. Thank you for taking the time to publish this...I truly appreciated it! Take care.

I enjoyed watching your selection of favorite shaving gear. Although I have not tried 90% of the products you mention, it is so much fun to see someone evaluate and comment on shaving products I might one day buy. Of all the products you mentioned, I only have the Old Spice soap and the Slim Adjustable razor, also among my favorites. Greetings from Santiago, Chile!

Hello! From time to time you seem to feel the need and something other than shaving, another clip. I love Parker brush very much, actually I think I fell in love with her the first time you introduced it, it just invites you to just look at it and keep it like a bibelou. All the best.

Very nice video and great products, that West coast shaving razor is the same head design as the charcoal razors i believe. One of my favorite razors in my den, my favorite products in ur shaving den are the old spice shaving soap and mug as well the after shave long lasting cologne. I went get my own and i’m very impressed with them, i was lucky enough to get my hands on a set of unused at very good price. Thanks for doing all you do for the wet shaving community.

@markwalsh67147 жыл бұрын
Great video. Thanks Paul. I'm huge lover of the Mitchell's as well but can't really bowl lather with it. Better results face lathering. I'm shocked williams mug soap didn't make it lol ;0)
@jamie.7777 жыл бұрын
Mark Walsh It takes skill to lather williams mug, a one and done review does not properly judge a 1 usa dollar soap, for one dollar willams gives me a great shave.. of course a soap that is 20 times the price will lather instantly...
@markwalsh67147 жыл бұрын
+jamie bairos a soap that gives an airy lather even for a dollar is pointless. Regardless of cost. The soap shouldn't need witchcraft to get it to work it should work effortlessly. I suppose like Harry Potter you need to swirl it round clockwise 7 times and then one turn anti-clockwise for it to work ? With so many excellent products out there why on earth would you bother ? That's my point. Cost is not an issue.
@markwalsh67147 жыл бұрын
+jamie bairos especially when in the U.K. You can get a Palmolive stick for 50p that works 100% better and easier with a pleasant scent.

It's a pity that Gillette no longer does some of the popular razors. But some Gillette models were copied by other manufacturers for example from China. QShave TTO (Weishi TTO) was made on the basis of Super Speed Flare Tip. Also this model is the basis of Timor Butterfly. Tech was upgraded by the manufacturer Baili. Now these razors are sold under brands: RazorRock, Wikings Blade, Godfather, and even Rockwell Razors. I also like Ming Shi/Qshave adjustable razor. That's why I decided to get a new QShave clone of Flare Tip. And Wilkinson Sword's blade is very good. Thanks Paul.

Hi Paul. I've come back to your channel many times in the past 3 months. You take this hobby serious, but just enjoy the shaves and have fun. I appreciate that. I'm posting on this thread because I don't see a newer top blade video. I learned on a DE in the 70's, then lost my way...lol. Back now this year. I own 3 razors and bought a large sample pack of blades. Tried 5 brands and I keep coming back to the Wilkinson Blades classic, not Gillette Wilkinson, because they seem to work the best... so far. Is it a mistake to just settle, or is there always a better blade? I haven't even opened the Feather pack yet. I did have some irritation on the first couple shaves back at the beginning of the year. Now as I tried a few more razors, I thought I found better razors, but I think it's the technique that's gotten better, not the hardware. All 3 shave well now. Getting the angle of attack was key I think. Enjoy the shaves and spring flowers! BTW, I saw in one of your videos you like a clove aftershave. I don't know if you've tried Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum. Its definitely different than other Bay Rum aftershaves. Heavier on the cloves and cheap here in the U.S.
