One thing people don’t talk about enough with the v3x is the switch weight mod system. I have a v3x that I hunt with at 75 and then put 60lb mods on for the winter. No new limbs, no switching of anything else… it’s basically 2 bows. And the v3x 33 riser is the same length as the TRX 36! Lots of value for a bow that shoots that well
@Stonewallx39
@Stonewallx39 2 жыл бұрын
I own the V3X 33 and the draw cycle takes some getting used to, where at first it felt >5lbs heavier then advertised (well with limbs bottomed it was 68 on 65 lb cams but still). After maybe 2k arrows it’s It’s super solid and consistent. I’m very happy but it’s all personal preference.

draw cycle is weird. Unless your shooting all the time the cams pretty much always snap back.

I was going for a Hoyt. And shot a few different brands the new flagship bows by different companies are really good and well engineered get what fits. The Mathew’s v3X 33 won my over for western hunting and 3D the Hoyt rx7 was badass but the price tag was a little to high for a working man. Absolutely love my mathews V3X

I have a RX-7 myself and I love it I've always shot Hoyt and always will. Going to the gym and doing exercises for strength training can really help you pull more weight poundage and have better form also and not worrying about the fatigue of holding that draw weight for a long period of time trust me. I'm back in the gym and I have no problem pulling my 76lbs bow and I am able to hold it longer than one minute no problem. Maybe you should consider going to the gym and workout on exercises for bow hunting. Good luck buddy!!

I love my V3X 29. I shot Total Archery Challenge and on 2 of the days I joined up with a group and shot with them and both days everyone was ver surprised at how quite the bow was. Saying that the RX7 and V3X is apples to oranges lol

Today I shot both the ventumpro 33 and the v3x and both are so so good I still haven’t fully made up my mind. I like the draw cycle of the hoyt better but the shot experience was quieter and more dead in the hands than the Hoyt. I also shot the 30” versions which I got a better group with but it felt twitchy in the hands and a bit more vibration. So I guess I will have to go shoot those bows again and make a choice, but whatever I end up getting it won’t be a bad choice these bows are all so amazing.

I love my Hoyts. I’ve owned 4 of their carbon bows now. Currently shooting a RX7 and RX4. Had the VXR 28. The draws on them Mathews are just brutal. My Traverse was a nicer draw IMO. Also had a TRX38, really nice target bow. But honestly Hoyt killed it with the RX7 release. It’s by far their best carbon bow to date. But Hoyt AND Mathews both need to step it up with the tune-ability features on their bows. Elite and bowtechs new cam tuning technology is a big game changer for tuning a bow right on the line. More companies need to focus on tune-ability without the need for a bow press. Curious to see what Hoyt does in the future. But Hoyt gets my vote here.
@bricedudley4612
@bricedudley4612 2 жыл бұрын
Nobody wants to admit facts for better technology but I will.Mathew’s # 1- true center shot and cable slide technology. 2- adjustability, 3- bow legs that keep bow off ground and can easily be removed, 4- rope system(sling also), 5- can break down bow without a press, 6- quiet and vibration free without limb dampening and a stabilizer(image with), 7- 2 options for quivers, 8- fully customizable from the factory. 9- faster ibo. That’s 9 real reasons why Mathew’s is technically better. But after all that being said and have owned a lot of Mathew’s and never a Hoyt. The new rx7 looks, feels and shoots wonderfully. Hoyt may be expensive but feels like your getting what you pay for for the value. Mathew’s I don’t feel that way being 11-1200$ think I would say max 1000$ worthy. If they don’t put all that tech of the Mathew’s in a 27-28” bow next year I’m. 100% going to shoot the Hoyt. It’s just a really great bow this year. Just my opinion but facts are facts though.

I had a RX-7 and sold it to buy a V3X33 and 29! Much easier tuning on the Mathews with the top hats! I hated the eclips and plastic shims on the Hoyt. Seemed cheap to me and didn't react as predictably with cam shimming as did the Mathews.

I recently upgraded from a VXR to Phase 4. The VXR to V3X was an improvement but not a huge one. The V3X to Phase 4 is also an improvement but not massive. The VXR to Phase 4 is significant enough that it was worth it for me to upgrade. I'm not even using the new stabaliser system at this point, it's just the vibration black hole that made me want to upgrade.

I liked the video. But I noticed that you really pushed the Mathew’s I really think that you sell more Mathew’s is because of the price point. Open country long range warm weather hunting I’d go with the Mathew’s or Hoyt aluminum riser in 33 or 34 inch But for cold weather tree stand or ground blind hunting like I do up here in northern Alberta Canada I’d definitely go with the carbon Hoyt I had the RX1. Then got the PSE EVL 32. I love the smooth draw And 90 % let off But man I miss the carbon and shorter riser. Shoot straight cheers Lol

I was pretty set on getting this bow or the hoyt ventum pro both shot extremely well..until I saw the bowtech deadlock on the sr350 and elite omnia both rigs have tons of adjustment features w/out the need of a press. Have you shot the bowtech or elite to compare it? I'm in the area for my first bow, so I'm just taking my time to figure out which one I really want.

Went with Hoyt, but I shot them all. In fact Mathews didn't make my top 3. Don't fall into the marketing. I use to be a Mathew fan for years can but they just keep coming out with a halon with new cosmetic items. Hoyt, Elite, Prime, and PSE are making real changes. I say shoot them all and pick what feels great to you. Don't chase a brand. This is my first Hoyt, never have been a fan but I really enjoyed the bow. Really wanted the RX7 ULTRA. To rich for me so got the Ventum 33 pro. Good luck to you!
@bricedudley4612

What gets me is why call the ventum a pro when there is not a non pro option and why is the rx7 not called a pro? When they both are identical?? No different parts and why not just call it the rx7A which stands for aluminum lol pure sales strategy with no backing but straight mind altering. Just my opinion

Mathews has great marketing yes! But they sell a lot because they are the best. There is a reason why all the brands have been chasing Mathews in many attributes. Quiet, dead in the hand, long ridged riser for its ata.

What bothers me about this compound bow and its successor is that you can no longer use your existing sight and stabilizers with the new bow! Mounting equipment from other manufacturers also becomes difficult.

@@tiberiuswade8789 I tuned all my bows to the same arrows. In the past week I went through everything that could be wrong with the Mathews v3 and I couldn’t see why until I watched a video about broad headed tuning by elk shap and figured it out. Nock pinch is what it was🤦‍♂️🤣 I shot my my oryx with my vxr 28 perfectly & did a bunch of 3D shoots with it, so I figured I get the 31 for more forgiveness and the day I bought it. I went out and got first place the next day. But yeah d-loop was the problem. Vap ss are excellent and tuned great with all my bows

3 bows in one year is a good year! You sound like me. I test 3 and hand the losers down to my sons or keep one as an emergency backup bow. I purchased the Ventum Pro 33 and the V3X 29. Ten years ago I bought my first bow, a mission ballistic by mathews. The last 5 years I've gone in with the intention of buying a new bow, but shooting my old bow next to new bows never sold me enough to drop any money... Until I shot the rx7 ultra. And the salesman here saying it's the most tunable... Bowtech and elite both have turn screw tuning systems that don't even require a press, so it's by far not the easiest to tune. It's on par with the hoyt.

I would never buy a Mathews, unless it's a DXT or Drenalin. Ever since the Reezen and Monster lines came out, things just went to shit. Floating yokes, Four fucking cables, tophats, shitty stock strings, top-heaviness. I want my bows simple to work on, simple to make strings for, and simple to tune - something that these new Mathews bows are not.
