Main problem is people using brushed car washes....those things murder on your paint...witness the swirls

If the car-wash is well maintained and the brushes are replaced at their service hours it shouldn't be an issue. A lot of car-washes are starting to use McNeil wraps (brushes) that are made out of a foam material that won't hold dirt and won't scratch the car. If you notice a car-wash has cloth wraps, stay away from them. Normally you will get scratches and swirls.

Well yeah you have touchless car washes....and doubt you will be going to any car wash that will replace brushes that fast...just one car or lets say truck with two tons of mud and dirt goes thru that sucker...forget about it..lol wash it at home or just spray it down it those self service style ones...never use the brushes unless you don't really care what it does..it will for sure scratch it

Most touchless car wash fluid contains Hydrofluoric acid: it can destroy skin, bones, glass, and eventually car finish.

Auto Start/Stop Systems should just not be a thing at all. It’s just a waste in engineering and investment. If you’re really serious about saving gas, just get a Hybrid. I doubt that Auto Start/Stop Systems would help you in terms of gas mileage if you drive on the highway every week or 24/7 anyway.

I dont care how important you are and how little time you have in your day, seriously, with the right products it can take 5 minutes to make your car look show room clean by hand, its especially easy if you keep it that way

FYI most if not all ceramic coating companies will void your coating warranty the minute the coated car goes through a brush-style car wash (yes, that sometimes $$$$ coating gets swirled/damaged every time).

I find this video really stupid. Just turn off the car, I'm from Europe and in every automatic brush type of car wash I've been in, the car should be turned off. Even if it's not, just turn off the wipers, start-stop and emergency auto breaking, that should take about 10-15 sec.

My car uses a smart key. As long as the smart key is anywhere inside of the car, the car can never get locked from the outside by touching the handle. This eliminates the problem of accidentally locking the car with the key inside.

If you're in the kind of wash where the car is stationery and the machine moves around you, then turning the car off fixes most of these problems. If it's the other kind of wash, couldn't you just put the car in neutral before turning it off, so that it could still be pulled along by the machine? I haven't been through a machine in a long time but curious if anyone can confirm or deny my theory.

Only recently driving a modern car and had to learn these. Car manufacturers should just add a carwash mode which automatically disengage as soon as you hit say 50 km/h. Or it can also be disabled manually.

This is why you shouldn't take modern cars in automatic car wash at gas stations. It could damage your car. Not to metion the sensors in the front bumper, radar and backup camera. It is better to wash your car by hand

In South Africa, when you fuel up in a petrol station, the workers wash your windows as you get fuel. My mums car always used to automatically turn on the wipers when they tried to wash the window and they would get scared 😂

Several of the car washes in my area the owner does *not* sit in the vehicle when it travels through the wash tunnel. One reason being as it emerges from the car wash an attendant opens the door and sprays glass cleaner inside. Then they hop in, drive the car out on the lot and a horde of attendants descend on your vehicle to clean windows, wipe down the dash and door panels. The remaining crew is busy wiping any leftover water off the hood, doors, and bumpers.

japzone --- These are known as full service car washes. All the driver does is pull up and tell them whether you want the spray on wax or not and what air freshener you'd like. You get out and they start by vacuuming the interior and take it from there.

japzone --- When I head to this full service car wash I just make sure I have nothing in the vehicle that might tempt anyone who has 'sticky fingers.' After the car or truck goes into the carwash tunnel you can walk through the building. You can watch the machines doing their rub-a-dub-dub routine; it's kinda interesting to see the whirling, spinning, dangling, spraying parts. They can do in 20-30 minutes that would take me a few hours to accomplish.

I just disable the rain sensing wipers before the carwash. Doesn't every car have the option to disable? Also if the car is in neutral, the engine doesn't shut off. Looks like Acura thought all of these issues through 😜
