However, if you’re talking about your top five fridges, for the most comprehensive review for people like me, who are shopping for a new fridge, PLUG IN THOSE FIVE YOU’RE REVIEWING. It makes no sense to have to imagine all the features. Run an extension cord to the one you’re reviewing, please.

Love info too however LG Refrigerators are the WORST for reliability. The linear compressors fail frequently and the warranty only covers parts. LG in being sued by a class action for the same issue. Horrible customer service unreliable product. Stay with other pics..

@@prodriver3216 I agree. LG is the worst refrigerator we have ever had. I’ve had just about everything replaced and it still doesn’t work correctly. They replaced everything from the compressor to the inside guts and it still doesn’t work right. They are terrible refrigerators. I will not buy another one and I wonder if this is a paid comparison. Every repairman has recommended either a Whirlpool or Maytag. Even people we talk to say LG is the worst and are satisfied with either the Whirlpool or Maytag.

Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I would caution everyone about buying the LG fridge tho. The same week my 6yo LG broke down, LG announced a class action lawsuit settlement on their compressors. That was the problem with my fridge too, but it was a couple weeks of Customer Service Hell and $135 to find out that it also needed a new control board that is no longer manufactured. LG could not tell me how many MONTHS this would take to get it. Your video just confirmed for me (along with other articles) that the Whirlpool is the best buy.

Lois, we must live in the same house, because you just described the problem i'm having with my LG Fridge. However, I'm trying to fix it myself. The Compressor seems to be working fine, and I've replaced every replaceable parts so far except the Circuit Board and the Compressor. I have a circuit board on order, and if that doesn't work, then I think I will buy new, and go with Whirlpool as well.

Did you ever clean the condenser coils on the back? Mine just died to after 6 years. I never maintence my fridge like the manual says to do though. Wonder if it would have made it to the 10 year mark had I done so. Also, most people don't know to keep about 2" of space around all sides so it can breathe.

That's too bad about the LG because it has nicer internal design than Whirlpool. WP has a bulky ice maker eating up internal shelf space. Did you end up fixing the LG or getting a new refrigerator?

Bells and whistles are nice, What I'm really looking forward to was ratings on the life of the fridge.... Who cares if your fridge has all this cool gadgets if it's going to break down in a phew year's.... I have 3 refrigerators, guess which one has lasted me 15 years and still works. My old one. My 3 year old Kenmore can't even keep up...

Couldn’t agree more with you both. My 20 year old garage refrigerator is currently holding my food while I shop for something to replace my sparkly/shiny 6 year old Samsung which died 1 year after my extended warranty. The technician quoted $900 to repair. Why are these products so inferior now?

Excellent video. I'm a fan of Kenmore and Whirlpool refrigerators but now I'm going to look at the LG and Jenn-Aire line as well. Is there a counter depth size in all of the top five models and do any of them have issues with the ice maker like Samsung has?

K Spencer no but LG now has a few models with gourmet ice. They are larger spheres that are great for cocktails. They have a larger circumstance allowing the ice to melt much slower.

What about the Compressors in these Fridge? LG's Linear Compressor is a Pain the Arse !!!

The heart of the ref is the compressor, it must be the center of any refs feature! If the company standby its name it should give the a minimum 10 year warranty for parts and labor replacement. Other important components of a ref must also included in warranty parts replacement are thermostat sensors, controller ckt board, and relay start/run breaker.

I have a Samsung rf268abrs that was built less than 9 years ago and had a Freon leak, flooding in the deli tray, issues with the ice maker. Im having to buy a new fridge, was told that LG models have compressor issues by different repairmen from different places, and Samsung has alot of ice maker issues. Every repairman liked Whirlpool, so I am probably going with them or GE. Pretty sad that Samsung and LG have such nice tech, but cant even have it for 10 years without issues.

If you buy the LG with the craft ice the first time it does take probably 30 hours for it to freeze good but after that your tray will fill up fast just leave it alone and don’t use it for like a week and the next thing you know it’ll be full. I love mine

I agree with other commenters. Plug those in!! We don't need to see them making ice, but it sure would be nice to see the displays and the interior lighting. Could it be that you are just too busy to plug them in? Maybe you're too busy to answer my questions when I come to your store. Also, in your reviews could you provide the country they are made in along with the country of the owning company? Keep up the good work. Please expand the information, and do more in depth reviews of these products.

on my 2nd samsung (1st side by side) other french door with ice. NEVER a problem with side by side (14 years and it was 2nd hand) the french is a bit of a disappointment. Under the pantry there is always a layer of ice. No one kows why

I agree with your #1 choice. I bought one, and really do like it. Mine has both ice makers installed. Both air and water filters aboard. Really nice model. Wi-Fi is easy to setup, and it is interesting how it communicates to your phone.

I have a Damnsung too that also has the ice maker issue but I hear that if you clear out the ice once a month you should be okay. I let mine go too long until my ice maker stopped working and now my ice bucket is stuck solid. I would have to defrost the freezer for eight hours to be able to remove the ice bucket. Screw that, I'm just going to use ice trays until this piece of junk dies.

@@RogueCylon LOVE your comment - try buying the "best" and still get screwed? Quality has gone down. Still, on some of the cheaper brands they have fittings that are near impossible to replace that break easily, so it's better to buy name brands, generally. LG and Samsung seem to be reliable - reading reviews, but it varies a lot. I have a GE Refrig, and it's not properly designed - good idea to use the reviews for the leading brand on each purchase. I also note with Covid-19 a lot of mgfrs. use it to their advantage and do not permit guarantees to be exercised. They don't have the personnel or even an inclination to support their brands. It's terrible!!!

@@RogueCylon please HELP us all - make a claim. Contact the Mfgr. and ask for help. Once on a Honda Accord my oil pump failed and it was just off the guarantee, but the auto co. gave me all the parts to rebuild the engine AND I had a mechanic willing to do the work for a fair discounted price - it worked out okay even having been over the guarantee, so I got a new engine, basically. Often, American Mfgrs. would say "sorry", but make a case and ask for help - you might get help. Be rational and don't act pissed off, but ask them for help. Depending on your state, you can ask for help from consumer advocates and/or State Government as well.

I am a loyal Samsung Galaxy phone girl....BUTTTT, SAmsung refrigerator has been a nightmare since the first year we bought it. The ice maker issue everyone seems to have. If you buy a Samsung be sure to buy that extended warranty, pretty sure you’ll need it. Only 5 years in with continuous house calls and looking to buy a new one. Brought the GE. After 4 days, it quit cooling. 6 week backorder so they gave me a new one. Two months later, it quit cooling again. Has the same problem so it looks like it is a design problem. Still waiting for it to be fixed. Got a side by side as a backup. I lost more money on spoilage and living out of coolers than the new Maytag.

Bought a brand new chest freezer from GE it lasted 60 days and I lost a half of beef in the middle of this pandemic and GE was horrendous about the whole deal. 2 service companies later and I still have no feeezer. This started in April. It’s August. They gave me $100 and told me they were being generous it’s usually $50 and I’m still waiting on a buyback or them to locate me a new one which they don’t seem optimistic about.

I do appliance repair for a living I'm watching this video now if they have an LG French door as one of the better refrigerators then they don't know what they're talking about. This GE has issues as well but no more than most the fifth one. okay that's all I need to say this guy is a salesman That's all he is this is a fraudulent rating that LG refrigerator is so problematic take my word for it . that whirlpool is not bad at all I don't see that much as far as a repair. that Jenn-Air is just a higher-end whirlpool same company. okay I fast forwarded all the way to where he's recommending another LG Don't listen to this guy, just do a Google search on LG refrigerators and compressors.

@@mariamaiorino8215 well I don't recommend any brands because they all have issues however if I was going out to buy one I probably would try to stay under two grand if not lower.. do not buy a four-door Samsung but a three-door one isn't bad I think I probably would look at a French door Whirlpool or KitchenAid their but basically the same brand I like those. my advice also is to read your owner's manual a little bit for care and operation because new refrigerators are different than older ones. I hope that helps.

@@advapp we bought a Bosch 800 series refrigerator. Fingers crossed it lasts us a long time. We also bought the extended warranty that gives us an extra 5 years coverage parts and labour should anything go wrong

I clicked on this just to check your facts, and you didn’t have Samsung on the list. Good boy, because if I could take that POS to the range and fill it full holes: I would. It also been a slight bit difficult to find the proper lights for my whirlpool oven and range hood. To me this in indicative of problems too. SRS ( showroom stuff, but with the hit instead of tuff. Hello everyone! Thanks for the video and comments! No Frigidaire comments? I got one on order via Lowes, 4th of July sale. Just learned here LG and Kenmore work together. I was about to change my mind. BUT comments still say stay away from LG(&Damnsung lol) which I did when shopping for a new fridge. So after reading comments here, I see Whirlpool or other USA made(KitchenAid,Maytag,JennAir) is recommended. Frigidaire thoughts? TIA!

Yes the LG #4 I know for sure has the 2nd ice maker because I just purchased that model this year 2021 in Nov. Love it. The feature of gong thru my phone is pretty cool. I can check and do a diagnostic as well as change temp on both the freezer and fridge not to mention tube speed on the icemaker. Love it. And LG & Kenmore work together is a big plus since I use to own Kenmore when Sears sold them. So far thumbs up.

I bought a Maytag fridge about 7 years ago. I paid a lot of $$$$on this model. I bought it as I loved the ice maker. Well of course the ice maker went up! Now it is leaking and the sounds are constantly knocking 24 hrs a day.. need a new fridge right away. I think no one from Maytag gives a hoot! LG appliances reliable? I must have had bad luck. Bought an LFXC24726S in 2015. Had it repaired once under warranty and the “linear compressor” failed past the warranty period. Also bought an LG washer in 2015 which was repaired under warranty.

the compressors are a known failure point for LG. They put a 10 year warranty on the compressors but you still have to pay for the labor which ends up being quite a lot of money.

The more bells and whistles you have the more problems in the future. I even have a simple top freezer Whirlpool ref, purchased in Sept 2019 and compressor quits on me April 2021. Out of warranty, since they only guarantee parts and labor for one year only for this model. There goes my $700 ref out the door!

I'm glad Samsung did not make the list. Ice maker keeps freezing up and takes F O R E V E R to get ice out of the door. I have to unplug it every 2 months for 12 hours to thaw out the ice maker. It freezes where there is no access without disassembly and makes loud noises when frozen up.

Anyone else gets excited about buying a new fridge 🤔😁 I’m such a domestic woman lol. I rent mow and I’d wish they would let me buy a new refrigerator. I can’t stand the side by side freezer. It’s hard to store food and very small and narrow and. I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to design a freezer like that. As if people don’t buy food! The Bottom freezer gives you way more space.

If you're going to do a quick review you should actually look at some of the features. Both of those LG models had a second ice maker. The first one had baller ice and the second one had regular ice in the freezer.

Both have two regular icemakers. Neither are baller ice models. Baller ice are different model numbers.

My GE French Door is 3 yrs old . It also ruined my floor and its been a hassle from the 1st year. You are reviewing how much space to put your milk and beer, why dont you test them on reliability? You are probably paid by them or dont own one of these piece of china craps. By the way mine cost 2800 and still 2020 and cost more to fix than what is now worth.

Our GE Cafe’ is 7 years old and has had problems since it was 3 months old. It stopped cooling again today and we suspect the circuit board is fried again. It’s been serviced 5 times already and I think it’s reached the end. Sad because I love how it looks and matches all the other appliances. 😭

Dual coils equals twice the defrost problems. Dumb system! GE refrigerators have a fan in the refrigerator section that goes bad and is often NO LONGER AVAILABLE even after just a couple of years! Any refrigerator that has dual coils is a waste of money. They're expensive to buy and they're expensive to repair. STAY AWAY! LG and Samsung are Korean products and most GE's are now made in China. If the parts are on back order it can take weeks or even months to get the parts. I recommend Whirlpool products and without all of the buttons and bells. It's a refrigerator. It's sole purpose is to keep food frozen or cool. Not to impress the neighbors! One man's opinion.... a self employed appliance repairman for 18 years!

Where the hell does the LG LFX26973S refrigerator cost $1897.00!? Even your own Appliance Factory website prices it at $2204.99. I really want this refrigerator, but don't want to spend an extra $308 if I don't have to.
