I think you missed a big one, one that hit me nearly as hard as dirty biz. You get the gig from either Regina or Rogue. You’re asked to go retrieve cyberpsychosis meds that were stolen from a ripperdoc, which you learn were taken by a veteran with PTSD. You head to his apartment and he confronts you once you find the medication. The medicine doesn’t help him, so you coax him to give them to you; it’s your job to get them back after all and it’s better than taking them by force. Then you talk him down from a plan to assassinate a politician, telling him he won’t accomplish anything by it. He finally gives you the medication and tells you to get out. You feel grateful that you didn’t have to kill him but it’s a hollow victory because you know you haven’t helped anybody. That’s Night City though. You go to leave the apartment and before you can get down the stairs you hear a gunshot. Racing back, knowing in your gut what happened, you pray. You round the corner to see him slumped over in the chair you left him in with a splatter of blood on the wall behind his head. That’s Night City.

One of them that struck me as really dark was the honor killing one in Pacifica. You find a man and a woman dead near some corpo agents, and learn that the woman was the daughter of a rich father, while the guy was a nomad. The father tried to bribe the nomad to stop seeing his daughter, but when both rejected him, he sent his men to kill them both. It's really dark, since so called honor killings are something that happen a lot in real life. So many women have been murdered or disfigured by their families for dating the wrong person.

Gottfried and Frederick... It's obvious that 'the game' wants you to kill them. I tried _not_ killing them and it worked out exactly the same in the denoument/payoff from Regina. I expected that the story would fork in some way, rather like a few others that changed when you did or didn't kill a target. But yeah...putting those two down was 100% justice, however unofficial.

That was the mission, that on my first playthrough very much solidified how I was going to interact with that character for the rest of the playthrough. And it solidified for me the worst in Night City. I finished the mission pretty much on autopilot, more or less staggered my V out to the dock side. It was night time in the moon was up and I remember just staring at that moon through the screen. "You'll have to be more specific" The sheer number of children involved. Somebody once told me that you begin to understand rock bottom the minute you realize it doesn't have a bottom. There's an awful lot of beauty in the game stories. But Night City? Not the people that live in it so much as the system it represents. The ecosystem of consuming human beings in every way possible. More so than rivers quest more so than anything else, dirty biz really got me as the most realistic, most banal, and most horrifying story there was in the game. I'm on my third playthrough now and it's not the same. But it's still impacts me. And nothing I've ever done in any kind of role-playing has ever hit me the same way as those long minutes in my office staring at that computer screen hearing a child tell me that I needed to be more specific and describing the dead kid I was looking for. I shot him in the face and then beat his father to death.

I know it's a quest line story but the whole Jackson Peralez story was creepy, sad and left me feeling powerless despite running through Night City. For side quests I tend to stay away from Highwayman even though it has a nice reward and Sinnerman. All the awful people involved in BD's make me love Judy even more for being the only good person involved in the industry.

Well the dirty biz mission really got to me when I played it. Woke them up, had the conversation, got angry and, after grabbing the bd, shot the kid in the foot. Well I got a crit and separated his entire leg and he died. I was a bit surprised but when I got the father's reaction it hit me like a bus. Didn't think I would feel anything other than anger with these two but the guy voicing the father really made me feel his pain. After a couple of seconds I killed him as well and set the game aside for 30mins. First time a game actually got me like this and it wasn't even a main quest or a forcefully triggered interaction or anything.

Btw, there will be 2 ladies talking at The Fourth Wall, the entrance to the studio when doing the Sinnerman. Conversation is about one of them stole the BD gears, which the other one found out that it was used to record chopping up kid, not sure if it's connected as players can only listen to their conversation only.

Great intro! For the record, I killed both Gottfrid and his son. It didn't matter to me who was worse between them...they were both culpable. Also, there is another gig (sorry but I don't remember the name) where a couple is planning to run away together before one of the parents hires a hit team to kill them both on top of an apartment building. Real Romeo and Juliet stuff.

There is one gig you can get from Regina in which you have to retrieve stolen medication (do not recall the name of the mission). Been watching you for a bit now dude and now I have to comment, you're really becoming one of my favourites. Congrats on 1k and to many more subscribers. A heart-wrenching encounter that comes to mind is the one with the two Monks (can't remember the specific name soz) monks are kidnapped by maelstrom and forced cyber implants onto them, just for fun, just to destroy their spiritual connection, one is let go and you have to save the other before he is dealt the same fate as his brother. Through it all they don't want maelstrom to die even during the saving of one of the brothers. Gets me every-time. Great video man!

There's one small secret to find who wrenched my guts as a recent father. In a body near Las Palapas motel is a dead man killed by a drone patrolling around, way off the main road next to the highway tunnel from Pacifica. Inside you find a record of a short conversation between this dead man and his little daughter... all I have to say is I spent a lot of time looking for the girl around there to no avail, and still can't think about that scene without feel myself very sad.

Also for a part 2, I think the hidden side job where you find that secret Tyger Claw bike is a really sad story. Another great vid, as usual. That Gottfrid scenario is like a kick in the gut and I agree it's probably the one that evokes the most pathos in me. Having said that, *SPOILER ALERT* when you walk into Judy's bathroom and realize that Evelyn did, in fact, off herself, that threw me for a loop for a while too. A runner-up, for different reasons this time, is the moment I've got Sandra Dorsett's naked body in my arms. *END SPOILER* Something about that activated my inner caveman "protect-mode" instinct and it is why, to this day - in EVERY playthrough - I go out of my way to destroy every Scav I encounter in the game. And when I say "destroy" I mean carry an incapacitated but still living Scav and place him just so on the hood of his car so he resembles a crucified man then blow his car and him to smithereens with rockets/grenades. A message to other would-be Scavs, if you will. No car handy? I pump their noggins full of double-barreled 12-gauge buck so no ripper dock could even have the chance to recover them. Seriously. I carry a legendary/iconic Sovereign around in my inventory for just such an occasion.

The XBD we grab in Dirty Biz is BD_9430. If each BD is it’s own recording, then that means they’ve edited almost TEN THOUSAND snuff BDs. And judging by how many boxes they have around the place, I don’t think that’s hard to believe. The one thing I don’t like about the Gig is that, aside from just how terrible they are, we don’t get much of a way to make them pay. I personally role-played going full Negan on Freddy using a bat that I conveniently found in the other room. But it still doesn’t feel like enough punishment for all the pain they’ve helped cause.

I know whenever I pull the trigger on Gottfried and Fredrik, I’m justified in doing so. But hearing the utter distress in their voices when their father or son is killed is an awful feeling. But like, I can’t let them live. It’s actually a really tough choice for me. But I always do what I feel is right; killing them both and then also the rest of the maelstromers that are there. And then, even tho I know I can’t blow up buildings, I still toss a few grenades in the building. For the sake of role play, yknow?

In dirty biz, once I figured out via the laptop the true extent of their horror, I'll be honest, poetic justice didn't occur to me, from what I read it was Gottfrid who was using that, so I shot him in the head, Got to hear the son grieve, so I shot him too. That mission broke one of my biggest moral roadblocks, I normally cannot kill a Parent or child in front of the other. In this case, Gottfrid was out of anger and terror at what he did, his son for his complicity, and so I didn't have to hear him grieve. This whole gig made me feel so much, when I was driving to the next one, It still plagued my mind, I kept telling myself I did the right thing, that they both deserved death, but I felt so dirty, I had just thrown away my own morals to kill 2 demons that are so easily replaced. truth be told, I'd prefer to forget it. It's the only mission to provoke me with the thing I hate the most (Child-killers and those who'd exploit/sexualize children) , and hit me with the thing I most often cannot bear to do (killing a parent and child right infront of eachother)

This game actually makes me reload an earlier save everytime I accidentally run over a pedestrian. It forces you to think about every descision and weigh the pros and cons, thus just running over civillians is something I and my V cannot bare nor justify. Actually I only once stole a car and I felt so guilty that I tried to not damage it at all and parked it nice and neatly on the sidewalk at location :-D She can pick it up in the evening again, minimal harm done. That said, I did shot Frederik first and then Gottfrid and like you said, I did not feel great afterwards

@@aaverageweeb5660 You must be one of those killer game people the media always talks about :-) Joking of course. I guess it's a matter of perspective and what you get out of gaming. I always liked the roleplay aspect in such games most. I play my V like I play my Cyberpunk RED Character. I do get the GTA/Postal escalation though. Nothing wrong with venting a bit.

@@aaverageweeb5660 don't worry, stereotypes and putting people in boxes is just what simpletons need to do for themselves to get easy anwers to complex questions. I'm an introvert myself and I don't like Mondays. But that doesn't mean I go full Brenda Ann Spencer one day. Theres a little more to ones personality than just the visible :-)

A lot of the encounters coulda been played or seen as side stories in a brain dance, instead of jus seeing a dead body and reading personal text messages….

A casualty of time cuts no doubt 😞. Though watching braindances constantly would probs remove from the action a bit too much. Hopefully in the next game they'll strike a better balance because this one has A LOT of bodies holding archived convos for story

@@SamBram so true, there were a lot of unused ingredients in this game from the life paths to these small stories. To sections of the map missing. I hope they nail what they couldn’t get right here in Orion when it comes out in the next decade

for the braindance business, they said if not them then someone else, so i didn't see the point in killing them, and this was after questioning them

I'm going to play devils advocate and defend the editors of the BD in Dirty Biz. They're right, they themselves didn't kill anyone and had nothing to do with the murder. If your argument then is guilt by association or aiding the people who did it, keep in mind this is Night City. NO ONE has clean hands in this city, not even V. Fixers do business with all sorts of shitty people. Rogue does business with Scavs, Panam (Although she isn't a fixer) does business with 6th Street, and hell, Wakako, who is the most important fixer to V is the one who sold Evelyn to the moth's head. Is she any better than the editors? Scummy as what they do is, V is not any better by any stretch of the imagination

Well, the last one is kinda even worse then you make it out to be... they didnt just kindnap and murdered the boy, its very heavily implied that he was raped and tortured for the BD, ough, seeing the messages and stuff in that Gig always gives me shudders :x
