My favorite Samsara! You describe our obsession perfectly. It's Samsara what can I tell ya? I CAN'T live without her and I don't like the recent formulas so I have plenty of the Clear and Red bottles. I love Samsara like no other!

Off topic… Dacob, I would love to see you do a review on Emeraude by Coty (if you haven’t already) and perhaps include a side by side comparison to Shalimar, as Emeraude was created prior to and was supposedly inspiration for Shalimar. Emeraude has turned into a drugstore cheapie now, however, I still find the vintage bottles to be just as rich and luxurious as Shalimar is today. To me the two are cousins, related in feel yes, but definitely two different personalities even if from the same Amber fragrance family.

Coco's use of jersey was amazing and as you were talking about the parfum jersey I found it in my box of les Exclusifs. I'd never smelt this before; it's like warm sunshine at the end of a hot day. Lavender is found in many fragrances marketed to Men. For example, Dior Sauvage Elixir, Chanel Platinum Egoiste, Prada Luna Rossa Ocean, and Mont Blanc Legend to name a few. It's a very common note in many fougeres.

There is so much sexual tension in these old D&G ads 😍 sexy without sex and nudity. Pour Homme is pure joy, shame that By is no longer available, it was also a great lavender fougere. Dior Homme on the other hand is perfect in terms of smell, but longevity and sillage at least on me is tragic… just tragic. Parfum version is ok, even too strong, but it doesn’t have that light and freshness. I don’t think that Francis is able to fix Privee Collection, at the begging the concept was different and Hedi had his own vision for Dior. Now this line has become very expensive and very commercial, created in mind for Asian and Middle Eastern markets. I think that Hedi fulfilled his vision at Celine, because his perfumes are strictly tied to his experiences and his life. That’s why Dior Privee Collection doesn’t work together anymore. Original trio is the best.
