Do you have any recommendations for dynamic trunk control, I struggle with things such as power cleans due to a lot of instability. Would there be something different a wrestler in particular would do for this?

Front Squats are great for dynamic trunk control because of trying to keep an upright posture. And I’d also recommend doing every exercise you do standing up and without a belt, unless it’s a machine where you have to sit.

Did this man just suggest that single leg squats are a way to work your hamstrings 😑. Clearly he misspoke or doesn't know what he's talking about.
@aaronstubbs6205
@aaronstubbs6205 2 жыл бұрын
They do work the upper hamstring. It’s predominantly a glute exercise (and the one I’ve found that hits my glutes better than anything) but the hamstring is also worked and in a similar action to the way we sprint (top hamstring shortening while bottom lengthens)

Wow, no lower back or hip flexor focuses exercises? Also, how does working the slow twitch muscles with squats make you faster when its been proven that the hamstring makes athletes faster?

How is doing squats synonymous with training slow twitch?? 🤡🤡
@TransNeingerian
@TransNeingerian 2 жыл бұрын
@TG Amar because specifically said the back squat and not a specific variation that trains explosiveness you clown. This is a top 5 for speed and he even admits its for absolute strength. Usually people keep quiet when theyre a fool, but it looks like you dont mind letting everyone know.
@tugul8888
@tugul8888 2 жыл бұрын
@@TransNeingerian You can do back squats for explosiveness you clown. And yes absolute strength helps in speed and squatting at high intensity trains fast twitch muscle fibers too. Back squats also put a lot of stress on the lower back and core as a whole. You're welcome for the knowledge dummy.
@TransNeingerian
@TransNeingerian 2 жыл бұрын
@@tugul8888 most exercises work a lot of muscles and can target more motor recruitment in a specific area if done a certain way, he didnt specify those. Thanks for explaining the generality of back squats that literally everyone also knew. This isnt a top 5 general exercises for strength list, its a top 5 exercises for speed. So your attempt to intelligently contribute goes into the "i lack reading comprehension so i cant conprehend my own stupidity" bin, if youve got room left. Im sure these arent the only times youve let everyone know how dumb you are.
@aaronstubbs6205
@aaronstubbs6205 2 жыл бұрын
@@TransNeingerian studies have shown that when lifting a heavy weight (1-3 reps) on squat it’s more predominantly fast twitch fibres as they generate the force necessary to move such heavy load. Obviously doing squats alone is not going to be enough but when combining it with sprints in a program and exercises like cleans you’ll build up plenty of fast twitch power fibres!
