Key 2024 Filing Season Dates
January 12: IRS Free File opens.
January 16: Due date for 2023 fourth quarter estimated tax payments.
January 26: Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day.
January 29: Filing season start date for individual tax returns.
April 15: Due date of filing a tax return or to request an extension for most of the nation.
April 17: Due date for Maine and Massachusetts.
October 15: Due date for extension filers.

According to TurboTax, yes. For the 2023 year, you do. More info here: ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-product-orders/need-buy-new-turbotax-program-every-year/L1Szp2ggo_US_en_US It looks like like in previous years, you didn’t have to do this, when there were no tax law changes. However, because there have been changes in the past couple years, you have to upgrade the software and purchase again for that specific year

Cash App Taxes doesn't file for NY State federal taxes.

@@everydaywithbecca since i have too many bad memories with H&R block i filed my taxes by Turbotax last year and did the same for this year as well. It’s very convenient especially it carries over all your information from last year to this year.
