So glad to see you back! Really missed your updates - BUT love that you’ve been traveling!! Awesome video of the lake ❤ ❓❓ Why is the collagen good for us? I thought lipedema is a collagen/fat disorder. Just love your good ideas (like bacon & sauerkraut for a meal-my fav!!). ❤ So, if I need collagen, I’m ready 👍

awesome advice as always! Thank you! Im looking forward to doing some traveling soon so this advice has come in really handy. PS I have recently found that that I dont always have to wear my leggins in day to day life (NOT traveling), sometimes it is enough to just bandage up my ankles. Just some advice for those hot days xx

@EvilFleesBeforeMe I'd call that a non-scale victory! Great reminder that our bodies are always changing - and healing - so our self-care protocols should evolve too. Sending good vibes for exciting travels

Great tips! I'm going to be going from Guadalajara to Paris with a large medical service dog and both he and I will benefit if I break up the legs instead of taking the nonstop 10-12-hour flight and I need to remember this when I book it.

@SharrellKline good luck to you and your pup! It sounds like it will be an adventure. Do let us know how it goes

I would have to really want to go somewhere. The thought of sitting in an airplane for a long time is horrific. Maybe a short flight. My legs are so painful. I’m just getting started on all this. Driving long in my car is awful, but at least I can stop and move around. Good tips though.

Hi, what helped me was to massage my legs every evening, which was painful, but after a while the diseased fat broke up and went away (I was also doing the keto diet) Now I have no more pain at all/ It took a while and it was painful at first but there is light at the end of that pain!

@helenguilford3136 give yourself time! When I was starting out even getting on an airplane seemed out of reach. Keep taking the next step forward and one day you will look back and be stunned at how far you've come. Big hugs

Do you ever travel with your Flexitouch? By airplane or otherwise?

Crazy question- what do you tell people explaining lipedema when people notice compression, swelling, etc

What do you carry your collagen powder in? Thanks!
@sturdywoman3 ай бұрын
@firemonkey0011 Good question! I try to keep it in the original tub so avoid questions. TSA says they allow you 12oz of powder and that's just about the size of my container. It takes up extra space but has worked so far. For long trips I will put a few scoops in a baggy in my backpack but I have been questioned about that a few times.

So we can have collagen powder?
@sturdywoman4 ай бұрын
@angellollar1083 I use it everyday and it's a delicious addition to my diet! It's done wonders for my skin, hair, and nails. What is giving you pause about using it?

I’m 2 days from a short flight. Haven’t flown since 2018. TSA site give a 48 page list of items with yes no, carry o or checked bags. It give a clear statement abt powders and how much. Medical needs allow larger amts. after knowing TSA rules check your airlines rules. My tip. I wasted several hrs looking for clear statements regarding my mobility. Finally called the airline. There was no way to get what I needed online. End of call my boarding pass will show my mobility issues and a wheelchair is available for the distances that would cause me pain.

And Sturdy woman I thank you so much for this timely video. Early 2000s I was a road warrior. 30+ work trips a year. It feels so good to put this travel back in my life. You have helped me in so many ways. When I hear myself say “I feel good in my body” I smile and send you pink hearts. Yep. That’s what yr feeling. Little pink hearts floating all around you as thank you from another sturdy woman🤸♂️

@@patsyruth3 great tip! They definitely don't make it easy to get information. In case you are ever traveling with any medical equipment, it is also good to know that most airlines won't charge you an extra baggage fee if you have a note from your doctor. I keep a photocopy of my letter in my suitcase so it's always ready to go in case I need to travel with my pump. For supplements (including collagen powder) I travel with it in the original package if at all possible and usually check it to avoid holding up the line with a lot of questions at security. Bravo to you for taking a stand to get what i need! I hope the trip goes beautifully 💕
