Top 5 Traxxas Maxx Upgrades! WideMaxx 6s Xtreme Racing Hitec Hobbywing

For the tires, I found the REDCAT KAIJU tires and rims are super nice and cheaper 60 bux for a set of 4 I also went with the Wide maxx kit i found the servo to be just fine as well as the motor and ESC I did replace the rear and front diffs with Hot Racing MXX125 Front or Rear Differential Locker Spool 26 bux each made it a real 4X4 frond and rear positrack also upgraded the central diff with the Traxxas 8980 Differential Kit and replaced the plastic spur gear with Traxxas wide steel gear for a full steel drive train. Also added thermal paste to the the motor heatsink does help with heat displacement. also went with the Constant velocity drive axles for WideMaxx and also went with 80w Lucas full synthetic shock fluid. I think next I'm going to go with a full steel underbody. As it is now its a crazy bashing machine! You can fix the fan problem with simply a drill bit and super glue and baking soda to create a bump stop on the fan shroud for the fan to keep the blades from hitting the shroud.

Definitely not to be negative; I know a lot of times stock parts are not as good as aftermarket parts but when your video first started and I saw how you run your car, I couldn’t help but not have at least the first thought jumped into my mind when you said the stock fan was not that good of quality and I’m thinking to myself, Could it be how you drive your car is why you started snapping fan blades off your cooling fan? I don’t know, maybe it’s not, maybe you just got a bad fan but out of all the videos I watch that are like this, I don’t think I’ve seen one yet what they recommend changing the cooling fan out…

I’ve still yet to break the crazepony fan and believe it’s a better option for those who need something stronger. @@pnwRCMADNESS That’s good you found a fan strong enough to withstand the way you drive… LOL. I’m sorry for taking your video the wrong way, It just seemed to me like you were essentially saying shame on Traxxas for using plastic half shafts and steering knuckles and saying that their fan wasn’t strong enough when I didn’t take into consideration that of course, anybody who drives their car like you do is going to have broken parts. You’re gonna spend a lot of time and money finding stronger parts to put on it. Just to spite your video, I still black pepper plan to buy one of these trucks but you’ll probably suit me just fine because I don’t drive my vehicles away you guys do.

I still run plastic axles... I won’t buy the metal axles because the plastic are fine... people that abuse the throttle will definitely break axles though. I try and run my rigs as lite as possible... my bad if o came across that way as well .. maybe I need to make a diff video... and I really appreciate your feedback. I do my best to be honest... if I don’t know something it could come across as dishonest and that’s not who I am. Thank you sir for the good words😊

You are mistaken. I have had this Maxx for a few years and there is a video that explains the problem of the fan blades breaking very well. I reinforced the sensitive area with silicone glue. It is indeed a factory defect.

@@wise--men well, I don’t see how I am mistaken because I’ve had my Maxx going on four years now and I have still yet to break anything on the stock fans so if you drive your cars like the guy in the video does which I will say, there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s your car and if that’s how you want to drive it, drive it how ever you please but there is room to be said that if you drive it like that, there’s gonna be some parts that you’re gonna think are inferior.

Oh, no my bad! Stock esc is only good for 3&4s..... I upgraded my esc to a hobbywing max8. And also upgraded my servo to a HITEC 7954tg

Hello! Thank you for tuning in 💯🤘🏼 I use double back tape. (3M) from Home Depot and a dab of shoe-goo as well for extra security. Shoe glue works really well but don’t use too much because it’s hard to clean up. So just a dab will do😀🤘🏼💯

The widening kit is awesome - I love it on my Maxxx. The rest you have installed is unnecessary I think. I would much rather have the TQi so you can calibrate the steering properly. I also only use Traxxas batteries - they sit nice and low in the body and the 4C makes this car fly. Those fans sounds awful - high noise fans seems like low quality? PC fans which are high quality has lower noise levels than cheap ones. But maybe this logic don't apply here in the RC world.

Hey! Thanks for tuning in for sure🤘🏼💯 to each his own right. I use my futaba because it has way more adjustments. And I don’t ever use a Traxxas battery because I have so many other rc cars. I also use an I charger also. Charges my 6s batteries in about 20 minutes. Been in the hobby quite sometime now and have learned a lot. And for the fans. Stock ones aren’t very good and break right away. The fans loud because it pushes a lot of air, that is what you want. Stock fans on any rc are always bad quality and break soon after you bash

Best upgrade just buy it used or something because that car just becomes more expensive thsn a lot of 6s capable RCS. Its a good truck but the price is just so much inflated while all of the 4s cars kaiju kraton 4s outcast 4s all retail for 400$ and some more companies are going to jump on the 4s market i cant see the value of 2 metal diffs and alluminum shocks justify the 130$ extra

This truck holds up better than my Arrma Outcast and really it’s probably the least expensive to maintain. I really hope this helps. And stock 4s is plenty fast as well. Just fun to experience the power of 6s in such a small platform (10lbs.)

Wide kit only necessary if you don’t know how to drive. Turn a truck going too fast and it flips. #physics Sure we could widen it, lengthen it and lower it for better handling BUT! Then it’s not what it is 🤷🏻‍♂️

My opinion about 6s. Unnecessary. It’s blazing fast enough on 4. This truck is already way overpriced stock. The Kraton or Erevo 2.0 are best on 6.
