Hey Ben, nice vid, how about top 5 inducements as a slightly different view of blood bowl?
@wexbon333 жыл бұрын
As a new Halfling coach and new to BB, I agree the Hefty is underrated. A lot of folks really don't like the Hefty. I see good stuff for my Hefty when we can play tabletop again and I join a league or start one.
@hampuskullberg99323 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben! Great stuff here! Havn't ever thought about the assassin as a catcher but it makes perfect sence! And thanks for the creed, I do think the fungus flingers are really under costed and even more important; they are gonna be super fun to play! :D

Great vid. Top 5 Friday idea: top 5 duos, or positional pairings. Pieces which on their own are kind of "meh" but with their "buddy" piece are able to steamroll.
@davinperry56483 жыл бұрын
I prefer skeletons to zombies on my starting undead roster. They can pass the ball if necessary, reposition better, work as safeties, and you may get zombies for free during the game. Despite having a lower AV my experience is that both are as likely to remain in play overall due to thick skull. I also think inducements would be an interesting next topic for Top Five or Theory Thursday. Is Josef Bugman better than a Wandering Apothecary? When is a Biased Refee better than a Bribe? Do you hire cheerleaders and assistant coaches or only get temps? Do you wonder whether a weather mage is worth it? For people that want to use some of the old rules what if you pay 50K to pick which type of 'special ball' is used for one drive and 150K to pick which pitch you use?
@BoneheadPodcast3 жыл бұрын
Hey Davin! Skeletons definitely have the edge now on the Zombles! And inducements is a superrrb idea for TT/T5F! On the list! Thank you!
@peter-d9f3l3 жыл бұрын
Another advantage of the fungus flinga over the bomma is Side Step. You can leave the FF in the back corner (with Hail Mary Pass) without worrying about them being crowd-surfed unless your opponent commits three players.
@BoneheadPodcast3 жыл бұрын
Genius! Hadn't even considered that, Peter!

Dark elf assassin with tackle is really good. Any piece that tries to move past has to make a dodge without being able to reroll and if they do manage to dodge you can just shaddow back next to them so that they have to make another dodge without reroll.

Nice vid as always! How about a Top 5 teams for beginners, as the hobby can be somewhat daunting to new coaches :)
@ogreman22293 жыл бұрын
Dwarves. I recommend dwarves to any new player. No complex strategy, high armor, block is an easy skill to understand. Just cage and bash. 1 die or even disadvantaged blocks aren’t as costly with block. They forgive poor decisions the most.
@MangoFandangoBB3 жыл бұрын
@@ogreman2229 Surprisingly, I think Dwarfs aren't ideal for beginners. The concept of caging sounds easy, but executing it turn after turn is an exercise in patience and forward-thinking. Not a trait of new coaches. Dwarfs are fantastic for experienced coaches, and that's why I dislike them with a passion. The copious amount of block and tackle makes them very forgiving, and for an experienced coach that's just win-win. Not good.
@ogreman22293 жыл бұрын
@@MangoFandangoBB I can understand your logic, I personally played dwarfs to begin with and found them really comfortable. Maybe it is just a personal thing though. There’s definitely a reason orcs and humans are in the starter sets. They are certainly good options for new players too. I just know you don’t want teams with difficult skills to understand and tend to think bash teams are simpler for new players than dodgy ones.
@brianriley21973 жыл бұрын
How about Lizardmen? I started on them cause I think they look the coolest, but they’re very fun to play, and way more flexible than dwarves. They’re tough and bashy, but also fast and have dodgy runners. You can cage up your saurus like dwarves. You can screen and make a running play with skinks like a human team. With a few level ups you can build a passing game with your skinks. And they don’t start with many complicated or confusing skills.

Assassins are also Stab without secret weapon, which is just yummy. And with multiblock on stab against a low armor team they become the best blitzers imaginable.

@deckerCKY3 жыл бұрын
Rat ogres and minotaurs are players that need to be active to be effective, which exacerbated their lack of block and loner. Trolls are passive players - they position guard and don't cause turnovers. Adding vomit gives them an offensive tool with zero turnover risk. The fact that they're the cheapest big guys in the game while accomplishing that is a homerun. Love trolls.

before i watch this video my personal bet: The human Lineman and many stunties^^
@deckerCKY3 жыл бұрын
I would have voted human lineman over orc lineman. Movement 6 means they're so much more flexible than movement 5, and armour 8 is enough.
@berry89323 жыл бұрын
@@deckerCKY jeah, but i guess that's the point. An orc is as much mobile as a halfling, or a gnobblar. The human is standard and Basic in every point. The orc changed mobility dir tankyness. Is this Bad? No! He can stay on the line longer and survives more battles. That's actually realy good for a positional, which is placed on the line to be punched. And when he already is in melee, what do u do with your linemen? Do u punch the enemy, or do u dodge, so u can run away to make the best out of your mobility and find his perfect field on the pitch to achive the perfect positioning game? In general everybody would take the punch and the mobility stays unused. But with this decission everybody just thinks about the best case. We hope we win. The orc says when he does it, the opportunity thinks Happen in the worst case is lower. That's actually realy good, but it's an achievement noone wants to work with. We prefer glascannons most of the time. We want to reach high distances to stay our of the range of enemies. We want to reach them, when they got the Ball. We rate this higher, then survivability. How often in bb2, when a 10 was rolled movement was choosen over armorvalue? Who calculated, "when my Players armor won't break i can use him more often"? Most times we accept the worst case and buy a new one for next game. But instead of this we could use this cash to take enducements instead. Armor is good, but its underrated. Even u said, that u see the potential of the human higher then the orc. So jeah the orc belongs to this spot.
