Thanks! This is what I was looking for! All things you mention make perfect sense and the training tips are nice, too. I would add the ability to relax before punching, which is the thing I am working on right now.

'Fast' : reaction time flexibility 'relaxation' half closed fist, relaxed hand stato-dynamic work 'ghost' limbs & letting punches 'fly' general work 'speed' weight training and 'max strength' 1-2 reps work specific work light elastic bands for no more than half a minute at a time alactic anaerobic work 4-8 seconds 'gross motor' training 'fresh' doing various things at max speed BETTER TO TRAIN 'SPEED' LESS THAN NEEDED, THAN TRAINING MORE THAN NEEDED/INCORRECTLY AND GETTING INJURED

My favorite way is keeping my hands up so that all I have to do is throw my hands forward without having to use my shoulder to lift my arm from a lower position

This is true. But also there are benefits from holding hands down. Like harder to see punches coming and faster headmovement. But like you I keep my hands up and only mix it up sometimes for fast headmovement
