Yeah, at least with Save Rock & Roll there are a couple songs that I did like unironically (The Phoenix, Light 'Em Up, the titular Save Rock and Roll) and with American Beauty/American Psycho it had Immortals, the best song from the album. I don't think Mania has anything to like from that album.

Alright, show me what you got: 5: I thought this was okay, I still like songs like "Over It," "Coma" and "Letting You Go." But for a Bullet for My Valentine album, it's really disappointing. And this is coming from somebody who liked Temper Temper. 4: It's better than Got Your Six, but that doesn't really say much since ...And Justice For None is on its own level of bad. Songs like "Fire in the Hole" and "Save Your Breath" are decent enough, but are overshadowed by songs like "Sham Pain," "Fake," "Gone Away" and "Rock Bottom." I tried keeping an open mind, but this album was just so bad... Even Nickelback wasn't this formulaic. 3: I'm indifferent towards Fall Out Boy, but this was just terrible. "Young and Menace" was enough to turn me away from this album 2: That album name... Jesus. 1: Well, I'll give Jared Leto this, at least he put in more effort in Suicide Squad than anything from this album. I remember 30 Seconds to Mars with songs like "The Kill (Bury Me)" and "This is War," not this garbage.

'Temper Temper' to me is the worst album by BFMV. I prefer Gravity over that album anyday :P 'Temper Temper' just sounded too much like 'Axewound', although Matt Tuck was working with them around the same time of making 'Temper Temper', so it was to be expected XD

Rather than saying my thoughts let me show you the bands that did it better this year: 5.) Architects (has electronic elements here and there but still knows how to slay!) 4.) High On Fire (Brutal ass shredding, & a punishing rhythm section to help back it up. The real badasses are the ones who don't need to say it over and over.) 3.) Panic! At The Disco (Yeah Pray For The Wicked ain't my favorite album either but it's still MILES better than MANIA!) 2.) Metric (It ain't a rock album either but it was way more intense/engaging/intelligent than AmeriKKKant, & yeah the title makes me cringe too!) 1.) Literally. Anyone. Else!

I haven't heard much out of these albums, and what little I did hear was just laughably bad. Fall Out Boy's Mania was the band at their absolute worst, and I actually was pretty lenient towards Save Rock & Roll and American Beauty/American Psycho. But Mania? It's one big steaming turd in a paper bag set on fire. Five Finger Death Punch's ...And Justice for None felt like more of the same "brag-a-docious" testosterone nonsense that Got Your Six was. Thirty Seconds To Mars' America just felt phoned-in. Like the band didn't even give a shit. And I don't blame them, since I give less of a shit to even acknowledge this horrendous album.

Let's not forget a track like Hurricane, which really was something else. 30 STM. I even liked their album before this one, but America is where I draw the line. Walk on water is at least a breath of fresh air on the radio, but it didn't have to have been 30STM who performed it.

You know, it's really depressing how bands started their careers off with either medium to high hopes (no pun intended) or excellent first impressions only for time to move on and having people see their whole outlook on music wane in quality in order to make cash-grab material that only people who are new to the band will know them for.

The fact that Thirty Seconds to Mars at their best is capable of not only making great music but even sending chills down your spine with how magical and creative their music can be and should be makes it hurt even more that an album like America exists. Throughout the 2000s with the self titled album, A Beautiful Lie, and the ever magnificent opus that is This Is War, this band could do little to no wrong during that time frame especially with Jared Leto being such an amazing and dynamic vocalist. It was after This Is War unfortunately and heading into the 2010s when things very slowly started to go downhill. Hell I would not even say that Love, Lust, Faith, & Dreams is necessarily a bad album because on that album the good songs off of it are truly amazing and might be some of the best songs they ever wrote, it’s just that in contrast the bad songs on it are just so horrible that you never want to hear them again. So while it definitely was the weakest album up to that point, I still would by no means call it bad. Fast forward 5 years later, a very long wait to anticipate new music from any band that you love mind you, and we finally get the abomination that was America and while there are some songs that admittedly I’m a little nicer to than most I still just absolutely cannot defend this album as a whole and it easily deserves to be up there as one of the worst if not the worst album(s) of the year. For a band that has proven that they are more than capable of making great music and should still be making great music, America is just an embarrassment. 🤦🏻‍♂️

My god, these albums. Gravity, while unimpressive, at least had a couple songs that I liked. ...And Justice For None is terrible. Songs like Sham Pain and Rock Bottom just give me a headache, and their covers of Blue on Black and Gone Away are just embarrassing. Mania, dear god this album. Young and Menace is worse than nails on a chalkboard. AmeriKKKant (my god, that's a dumb name), falls in the same obscure camp as Backwordz and Prophets of Rage (at least PoR had Hail to The Chief, which is a decent enough song, to an extent) America (I'm starting to sense a theme), is just dull. I'm not the biggest Jared Leto fan, but I've seen him do better. Hell, even his Joker performance was better than this. At least he put in some effort into that.

Hearing these albums disappoint me. I'm a huge BFMV fan, but Gravity is just underwhelming. I'm indifferent towards 5FDP, but I just cannot stand ...And Justice For None (seriously, Sham Pain and Rock Bottom were just painful to listen to), and for a band that is "pro-military," they are no different than adolescents playing Call of Duty. Fall Out Boy had a few decent albums at the start, but then quickly gone downhill when they went full Electronica. Mania was just awful. Easily the worst thing I've heard all year. I've never heard Ministry before, but after listening to AmeriKKKant, I wouldn't want to hear anything else. 30 Seconds to Mars really breaks my heart the most, since I really liked The Kill (Bury Me) and This is War. Their newest album just feels cynical and lazy, and that is easily the worst kind of album you could ever make.

Last month I went to see Bullet live as a friend offered me a last minute ticket and I though I'd go since I'd only been to pop punk concerts and never a proper metal concert before. As always, I spent majority of the time in the mosh pit, and it was the most insane one I'd ever been in. Except for when they started to talk about the Gravity album and played what I think was 2 songs from the album and then moving on. The mosh pit literally went dead for the time that they played the Gravity stuff. People were just walking about the mosh pit, that for those who actually tried to get some fun going, no one really joined them. It was after they finished the 2 songs things livened up again around in the mosh and everyone just started going nuts

My opinions on each album and band: 5: Bullet for my Valentine is a band that I’ve never loved, but I’ve always liked songs from them and at least respect as a whole despite being trend chasers over the years. Off this album though, I actually did like the opening track Leap of Faith but everything else was just the blandest thing ever considering how much better this band can do. I’m not even a full fledged fan and I know that they have done better. 4: I’ve never been a Five Finger Death Punch fan to begin with but after really hearing about what they’re really about now going back to even a few years ago, I don’t see myself ever becoming a fan in the future. It’s a shame too because I do like Ivan Moody’s voice despite how much of a douchebag he is and I can see the talent of all the other musicians as well, but they just don’t care anymore and things just aren’t going to get any better as Ivan just continues to whine and complain about all of his problems behind the most generic metal music you’ve ever heard in your life. 3: I’m just gonna day it right now, I hate Fall Out Boy to begin with even going back to their earlier period. Sure I’ve liked a few songs from them over the years but unlike Bullet for my Valentine who I can at least respect and see as talented, I’m sorry but I just never saw the big deal in Fall Out Boy. I’ve never been of a fan of Patrick Stump’s whiny voice, Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman are pretty generic at what they do in my opinion, and Pete Wentz is just awful in every aspect and thus should never have taken up music to begin with. And as much as I hated them back in the day, they got way worse after they reformed and it got gradually worse with each passing album. Mania is the one that finally broke me, it is just all of my problems with Fall Out Boy x1,000,000. Many others have said it already and I’m now going to say it, Fall Out Boy....please break up. 2: I’ll be brief here as I’ve never really heard of Ministry up until Rock Coliseum 3, but even I can tell that this new album of theirs sucks and quite honestly it doesn’t really look like a band that I can get into anyway. That kind of industrial metal just isn’t for me. 1: I already went on a long tyrade on Thirty Seconds to Mars on a previous post so you can just look at that for my thoughts on America. I will just say this though, I don’t know if they will continue to release new music after this as Jared Leto said that America could very well be their last album, but if they do release anymore music in the future, they’d better give us something far better than what was presented this year. I tried listening to their cover of "Blue on Black," and I had to stop the video about a minute in because the pitch correction was so jarring it literally hurt my ears.

The new 5FDP record was purposefully made mediocre for the record label because of the lawsuit against the band. They wanted this album to suck, and even put 2 covers on the album, plus for the deluxe edition, included the 2 new songs from the Decade of Destruction album. The whole album was just a “here’s an album, now leave us alone” thing. I don’t give it a pass for that reason, even as a fan of the band, but the past few years have been bad. Got Your Six was a good album for me, but now Jeremy Spencer has left the band, and he was the driving force behind the sound of Way of the Fist

BFMV, Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds to Mars were at their respective peaks in the mid to late 00s, Five Finger Death Punch used to be my favourite band in high school and Ministry have been on the throne for decades. But they've all either sold out, became too political or just got lazy and that's a damn shame because they all have talent but they waste it making these awful albums

I’m not surprised to see fall out boy’s mania on here. Even as someone who LIKED Save Rock and Roll and most of American Beauty/American Psycho, M A N I A is my worst album of the year because it not only sucks, but it also hurts and leaves me depressed. Champion was honestly the best song off the album mostly because I felt like it was the closest thing to a modern fall out boy song from the previous two albums. It’s not the best in general, but I can enjoy it. I also kind of like Last of the real ones, but the rest of the album is just hot techno garbage. Church is just migraine inducing, Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea (what the hell kind of name is that?! Why not just call it Eau de resistance?!) is just a wubstep shit show, Sunshine riptide is a mistake no matter how you look at it (a fall out boy trap song?! Really?!) and i swear whenever I hear young and menace, I can hear the fall out boy i know and love dying with the end of twin skeletons playing in the background. I just hope to god that Lake Effect Kid is a sign of Better things to come even though the last song is hot garbage.

I've been living in Hawaii for a long time and we're very starved for rock out here. And most people out here have a seriously shit attitude about rock and they drag you down with their obnoxiously closed-minded, severe buzzkill attitude. Anyway, hearing those clips of 5 and 4, those two sounded all right to me and pretty listenable. I've never been a fan of Fall Out Boy.

1. New FOB isn't bad because it's electronic. It's bad because of the lazy songwriting and sub-par production. If FOB were good at synth-pop, it wouldn't be an issue. 2. Bullet for my Valentine's new album hurts me the most. I basically grew up with that band, from an angsty 13-year-old to an older-now-but-admittedly-still-angsty 22 year-old. The band is responsible for getting me into way heavier stuff in bands like Revocation, Through the Eyes of the Dead, and Misery Index that I listen to nowadays. I still listen to a lot of their old stuff on a daily basis. They had a sound to them (especially in the way they harmonized their guitars, and Matt's distinct voice) and while it wasn't unique, I could pick it out in a heartbeat. Lots of people hated Venom in that it was essentially a worse re-hash of their earlier material, but I would gladly take that over Gravity. Five Finger Death Punch's new album is no surprise. They've been crappy since The Wrong Side of Heaven albums. I mean, I guess the spiral started with American Capitalist, but to be honest I enjoyed that album a lot and War is the Answer and The Way of the Fist are favorites of mine. All still macho, Monster-chugging metal, but it sounded genuine at least. I'm no super-fan of 30STM, but I do like them quite a bit. A Beautiful Lie and This is War are both decent (if not angsty) albums, and their self-titled debut is another favorite of mine. It saddens me that their recent music is just so lackluster. The End of All Days is the last song I thought was decent from them.

i definitely agree with most of the list however id swap ffdp for disturbed's evolution album. Evolution was garbage mostly weak repetitive songs and when they did do something somewhat heavy they were copying ffdp riffs and sounds.

I actually like 'Gravity' by 'Bullet for My Valentine' :P I understand that it's different. I personally enjoyed it, but I can see why others didn't, although I still think 'Temper Temper' is their worst album. Again with 'And Justice For None', I think it's a pretty decent album by 'Five Finger Death Punch' album, but I can also understand why some people didn't enjoy it :P It's definitely far from their best, I will admit that. 'Mania' is definitely the worst album by 'Fall Out Boy', it's fucking awful XD I don't listen to Ministry, so it doesn't matter to me aha and lastly I've not heard the newest album by '30 Seconds to Mars', but I know it's the poppiest album they've done XD 'Walk on Water' is the only song I've heard off the album 'America'.

5- I still hear Letting You Go on SXM Octane and like it well enough but didn’t care enough to listen to more of it, then again not a big BFMV fan. 4- I actually like 5FDP and barely remember this. Not gonna lie, Got Your Six was a pretty solid album IMO but this is one of those things that’s just “okay”. 3- Fall Out Boy had a new album? Well what I heard from it in this video is terrible. 2- I used to like Ministry then I heard Antifa and part of Twilight Zone. It’s like... Limp Bizkit levels of bad with “orange man bad” bullshit because it’s just popular to talk shit about Trump often by saying inaccurate dumb stuff. 1- Who? Oh, Suicide Squad Joker? I finally heard sham pain entirely ( just the song, not the whole album, i love myself) and the worst part about it is.....the song is pathetic, and it's not like " haha lame", it's just pathetic seeing Ivan trying to say "i don't care about what the world say, I'm living the life" but at the same time whining about his life as a musician.
