Thanks for doing god's work and listening to all this garbo so we don't have to! This might be a controversial opinion, but my worst album is Megaton Sword. I thought that record was literally unlistenable. I made it two minutes into the album and had to stop, skipped around through some of the other tracks and closed that chapter. Some of the worst digital audio editing I've heard this side of St. Anger and incredibly underwhelming performances that get by on the trad metal trend. Also, ever think of doing a most "disappointing" list? Not necessarily bad albums, but just the ones that let you down the most? I'd be interested to hear what yours are.

Originally wasn’t going to post a list, but I decided to do so last minute. Not just metal releases, but a more broad spectrum of what I listened to this year as a whole. This is only covering albums I’ve listened to in full, so there are some albums I missed (probably for good reason). Anyways, here we go! Dishonorable Mentions - Ariana Grande - Positions - Carach Angren - Frankenstenia Strataemontanus - In Hearts Wake - Kaliyuga - Neck Deep - All Distortions Are Intentional - PartyNextDoor - Partymobile - Red - Declaration 10. Asking Alexandria - Like a House on Fire 9. Green Day - Father of All (Motherfuckers) 8. Joyner Lucas - Evolution (advertised as an EP but at 44 minutes in length I refuse to call it such) 7. NAV - Good Intentions 6. Trippie Redd - Pegasus 5. G-Eazy - Everything’s Strange Here 4. 6ix9ine - TattleTales 3. Emmure - Hindsight 2. Within Destruction - Yokai 1. Six Feet Under - Nightmares of the Decomposed (to no one’s shock or surprise) And that’s all I’ve got. My AOTY list will be similar to this but potentially bigger. I’m gonna have a time with that, stay tuned nerds. 🤘

Last year's edition was actually the first video I saw on this channel. Can't say which one's better though. Like I said before, I didn't listen to a lot of new music that was released this year, but I do have these two records that I do have negative thoughts on. The Burning from British Lion was a pretty disappointing album to listen to. It really does feel like a middle of the road hard rock record with a bad vocalist that just so happens to have a legendary bassist. Somehow the same guy who wrote The Red and the Black and When the Wild Wind Blows this past decade also wrote this incredibly mediocre album. I really wouldn't be disappointed if Steve put a rest to this side project. But the record I heard this year that I couldn't stand was Primitive Man's Immersion. I had given this one a listen because you gave a relatively similar description to Stare Into Death and be Still from Ulcerate. I completely disagreed with you on that one; I thought it was a great record. So I thought this would roughly be about the same. Nope. This album is monotonous, one note, and just, boring. This album was less than 40 minutes yet seemed to be dragging on and on and on. I really don’t care if this album was done in drop Z or not, this album is not good. I did try listening through Six Feet Under’s album, but I couldn’t. Chris Barnes’ vocals were incredibly bad on this one.

while my list is definitely not the worst of the worst from 2020 but in my opinion, these albums from 2010-2020 were really bad, at least the albums i listened to personally. 2010: A Thousand Sun by Linkin Park. about half of the album from the 15 tracks are just interludes, and the other half is just average at best, and i really hate to say this but i think this is where LP Started going downhill, they still made really good songs like Heavy, Battle Symphony, or One More Light, but they really left their old sound what made them so unique in Hybrid Theory in the first place 2011: Lulu by Metallica and Lou Reed... do i really need to say more about this? 2012: i tried thinking of what i should put here, but i just gonna throw 3 albums here since its kind of a "trilogy" i think. those albums are Uno Dos and Tré by Green Day, i dont know what happened to Green Day but after 21st Century Breakdown they really just started producing trash after trash. and lets not even talk about Father of All Motherfuckers. which btw, who's idea was to censor the fucking album's name? and what album is 26 minutes? that "album" is an EP. at best. but im getting sidetrack, lets continue the list 2013: Fashionably Late by Falling in Reverse. i have nothing against any members of the band, but man, Ronnie Radke is the worst fucking singer i ever heard, and im saying this as someone who listens to Black Veil Brides and a fan of them, but for the life of me, i can't get into Falling in Reverse at all, Bad Girls Club and It's Over When It's Over, has to be the worst songs from the album in my opinion. and its not because the guitar riffs, the solos, the drum are bad, they are pretty good actually, but the way Ronnie Radke sings is just pure earrape, its like someone just hit puberty midway singing, 2014: honestly, there isn't really any album i would consider the worst from this year, but if i really have to choose one from any genre, it would be Bitchcraft by Blood on the Dance Floor, the name alone for the album makes me cringe, i was able to come up with better album names when i was in third grade even if i didnt know English at the time 2015: Human by Three Days Grace. i essentially wanted to put Got Your Six by Five Finger Death Punch...which is still the cringiest, most edgiest name for a fucking band. but Human by Three Days Grace is honestly worse, Before Adam Gontier left it was a pretty good band, and One X Is still one of my favorite album to this day, but with all the backlash and all the fight between the bandmates just made me hate the band so much, i had high hopes for this album once they announced they found a replacement for Adam, but once the album came out. it left a really sour taste in my mouth. the songs felt generic as hell, especially songs like Landmine, Painkiller, and So What, Matt, the at the time new vocalist for Three Days Grace was Mediocre at best, it just felt like a downgrade overall for the band and it really divided the fanbase a lot 2016: Angelic 2 the Core by Corey Feldman. and thats all im gonna give for this entry 2017: again, just like 2014, i didn't really listened to any bad albums of this year, but if i have to pick one that i consider the worst, its Evolve by Imagine Dragons because yaaaay. jumping on a hate bandwagon is so much fun. 2018: America by Thirty Seconds to Mars...where do i even begin, what happened to this band? what happened to Jared Leto? where is the Drums? the Guitars? is this Guns N Roses 2.0? There is no one left in the band, its only the Leto brothers. where is the quality control? what are these lyrics? it feels like im listening to a really watered down version of Skillet. and speaking of them 2019: Victorious by Skillet. i could have put the Nostalgia Critic here, but that would have been too easy, instead, i put in an album and a band that i personally grew up with, and this is where a really long rant is coming, i dont know what is it with Skillet but they really lost touch with me, their 2000s albums like Collide, Comatose, and Awake was the best, and Collide is one of the most underrated albums in my opinion that really deserves the same recognition as Comatose and Awake, then, they started producing lesser quality music, Rise was still a decent album, but Unleashed...yeah. that didn't age well with me, but then, came Victorious. for a long time, i really anticipated this album, especially because the Lead Singer John Cooper claimed that i will be their "heaviest record ever" i waited. and listened to the tracks they put up on their KZbin channel, and let me make something perfectly clear, its not a good marketing move, to put out half of your album publicly out on the internet, putting out 3, maybe 4 songs should be enough, but 6? really? but the tracks, it gave me nightmares, Legendary was so bare bone to the point i felt like im listening to a WWE Wrestlers theme song, This is the Kingdom was basically a rip-off of Imagine Dragons, and i do NOT want to listen to a Imagine Dragons rip-off, and boy, Save Me? Rise Up? Victorious? Never Going Back? Reach? i genuinely felt like i heard them before, i felt like either they ripped off some band or they just reused some of the tracks and tweaked them a little bit and gave them some "new" lyrics, and Anchor and Terrify the Dark. oh my god those songs, i get it, they are a Christian band, but can't they, at the very least make some decent songs? this felt like those generic love songs you listen to when you are a teenager either being in love or going through a major break up, im not saying they are bad songs, but its just so generic to the point that i dont even recognize Skillet anymore, im not expecting an Avenged Sevenfold level of guitar and drum play and Lyrics, im just expecting something that i can go back to every once in a while and enjoy them, not when i feel fucking depressed, Back to Life is Basically Back From the Dead and I Want to Live combined together from their previous record Unleashed, Finish Line was just average at best, the only one song that i felt was even remotely good was You Ain't Ready. thats it, 2 songs, 2 songs from a 12 track record that i felt was tolerable, and thats not a good percentage, Skillet already proved themselves with Collide, Comatose, Awake, and maybe Rise too as a Christian Band, i feel like they just riding on their fame at this point and just putting out records in order to not lose the remaining fans they have left, and i remember John Cooper being involved in a side project called Fight the Fury, and their EP Still Breathing was so much fucking better than Victorious, and that came out about a year earlier before Victorious, what happened between that one year? on the EP John was screaming, singing his heart out, playing riffs that i never heard in Skillet before, but with Skillet? its like he doesn't even care about Skillet anymore, he was so different in the Still Breathing EP, but with Skillet he is just lazy, and that is the nicest way i can put it in, John Cooper with Skillet is just Lazy, and everyone else in the band just feel like they are yes mans at this point who just want to move on and get a paycheck at the end of the month. if Skillet doesn't redeem themselves with their next album, i seriously lose all hope with them 2020: Shadow Work by Trapt. Fuck this record, fuck this band, fuck Chris Taylor Brown and his fucking view on politics and pedophilia, and Fuck everyone who loves this band.

Never liked In Flames. Just not my cup of tea. Brian Posehn is funny and at times hilarious, so it shocked me to hear how bad his Grandpa Metal album is. Danzig sings Elvis. Danzig has always kinda sucked you got to admit. The only thing descent ever from Glen Danzig was How the Gods Kill. Even watching him perform live he seems to be more focused on turning the microphone backwards? You know that mic thing he does. Never really thought of it as a gimmick but since hes doing it still 30 years(probably longer)later, its a gimmick. He has another gimmick and thats head banging backwards. Dont believe me watch the How the Gods Kill video. Backwards seems to be a theme with him. Bet he would go backwards in time to that day when he was caught getting knocked out by that dude. Good job dude!...Trapt nothing to add there except did you really listen to the whole album? I mean Im not defending anything on there, I wouldnt listen to anything on there unless if I was paid to and even then I would skip as many tracks as to not get trapped(yep I went for the cheap pun)in there right winged Donald Trump delusional propaganda. Psychosexual I never heard of them. Ive been listening to death metal since 1992 and the themes you mentioned in a Psychosexual song reminds me of themes....Chris Barnes wrote about with Cannibal Corpse. When Chris left Cannibal what made it alright was the fact that he was forming a new band and the dude from Monstrosity was going to front Cannibal Corpse. Only one good thing actually happened. Six Feet Under get credit for releasing like three good albums, Haunted, Warpath, and probably thier third release. I was so stocked about Haunted that I bought it on the first day of release and was so excited to hear this awesome death metal creation. But what I got was a nap. The possibility that I thought could happen did. The guitarist for Six Feet Under came from Obituary. And the lesser issue I had with Obituary was how monotonous the riffs were. And he brought them with him when he joined SFU. Chris voice was descent but the cracks were begining to show then. I said it a long long time ago about his voice, its gone. Hes only making it worse and its finally starting to effect the greatness he had with Cannibal Corpse reputation wise. He is and will always be a legend and an icon of the death metal genre, but who ever is lying to him saying his vocals sound good and brutal need to stop lying to him.

That Six Feet Under album is easily the worst album of the year for me. It's not even because the music is uninspired as hell and full of death metal tropes. It's because Chris Barnes just can't do extreme vocals anymore. It's painful to listen to. I feel like my throat is being shredded just by listening to the dude. He needs to hang it up, but he's probably too egotistical to do that.

He never would, but its fine because I just won't pay attention to the next album. If he can't be open to criticism, then theres no point in offering it from here on out.

I will LIKELY be in the minority on this one but after listening to both albums back to back; I enjoyed Lamb Of God's self titled a lot more than Sepultura's Quadra. I've heard a lot of people praise this album saying it's Sepultura's best since Max left; I completely disagree. I honestly thought Kairos was a stronger album. I didn't find any of the songs catchy, memorable of something that I found myself wanting to listen to again. Each time I listened to Quadra, I found myself trying to hard to enjoy the album and just became more bored after multiple attempts. None of the songs sank in while Lamb Of God had at least two songs that I really enjoyed: Memento Mori and Resurrection Man. I'm not saying the album is terrible but its certainly my most disappointing album of 2020.

Now THAT is a hot take! Lamb Of God's self-titled was ok but I've had ZERO ambition to return to it, unlike many of their older records.

@@themetalmeltdownofficial Yeah, I thought I probably had an unexpected opinion. I didnt necessarily find the new Lamb Of God great either; I just thought it was better than the new Sepultura.

The reason why cannibal corpse can get away with worse subject matter than psychosexual? Its not done for multiple songs in a row, the music holds up, and it's not shown in a fetishy way.

Never really cared for SFU. But their latest album REALLY FKN SUX!!!!! The vocals are the worst part??? So fkn bad? C.B. era C.C. was my favorite. Love G.C.F. too. G.C.F. is by far the better vocalist.
