@@brycetalksmetal Here's mine dude. 10. Death Angel- Amazing debut and vocals. 9. Death- Best death metal band by far. 8. Power Trip- Freaking insane music and its awesome, wish they made more. 7. Judas Priest- Very diverse and A Touch of Evil is one of my favorite songs ever. 6. Slayer- Reign in Blood is probably the best thrash metal album ever. Dave Lombardo is also my favorite drummer. 5. Overkill- The most consistent metal band ever, even their weakest albums aren't bad. 4. Praying Mantis- Criminally underrated, their music is so powerful and uplifting especially my favorite song from them, Believable. 3. Saxon- Their songs are just the most exciting and badass things ever. 2. Helloween- Best power metal band ever, Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt.2 is a masterpiece. 1. Iron Maiden- My favorite band forever, they a have a unique style and sound no other band has.

Hey Bryce just curious, with Priest landing at the number two spot on ur list, was the HALFORD band anywhere close to the top 50? Fight? I have loved Priest for 20 years, saw em a bunch of times but once i bought the HALFORD debut last year it quickly became my favorite album from Rob. I really like Crucible & Made Of Metal too. I was kicking myself for not getting Resurrection back when it came out but for me 2000 was all about Reinventing The Steel. Anyway just curious about Halford.

@@brycetalksmetal yea i love the Fight devut but the Halford band is better. Definitely check out HALFORD IV MADE OF METAL. I think its better than Crucible. 'The Mower' is an awesome song, very heavy, great drums & a unique vocal delivery from Rob. Ill post my top 25 or 50 bands later. Cool list, thanks.

Glad Pantera is so high up. Haven't really listened to them in years, but I really can't stand the hate they get nowadays. It makes no sense. They were amazing. Cool list, all together. Nice list, cool to see bands like Racer X and Loudness. I would definitely rank X Japan in the list considering you have Anthem and Loudness. In my opinion X Japan is the best metal band coming out of Asia ever. Obviously i'm biased as it's probably my favorite band ever. The first three albums are amazing. But I agree with your top 5, hard to top that. X is my favorite band followed by Pantera.

I agree with you on Metallica. Those first 4/5 albums are legendary, but they deserve to be docked major points for everything since. Lackluster albums, lack of albums, becoming a t-shirt brand more than a band, etc. Compare that to Megadeth, who has been releasing album after album of great music, staying true to their roots, and not prioritizing merch over music. Your 1 and 2 are actually my 2 and 1, respectively! My top 4 would be 1. Judas Priest 2. Megadeth 3. Iron Maiden 4. Pantera 5. Savatage

I dunno, at least they changed something in their music, Dave's riffs as of late are starting to sound more and more the same. Also I don't think becoming a recognizable band logo is a bad thing, Pink Floyd are fucking great, for example.

@@mattleo3211 Being a recognizable band logo is one thing. Marketing yourself as a brand to the point where that is bigger than your band, that's a problem. And as for "Pink Floyd is great", I completely disagree. My most hated band of all time.

I'm glad you even just gave grim reaper an honorable mention. I'm a huge iron maiden fan huge Ronnie James Dio fan. I rarely listen to Black Sabbath if it doesn't have Ronnie James Dio or Tony Martin. You should check out some metal Church and PS wasp is one of my all-time favorites of all time.

Great list. I hadn't listened to Skull Fist before but now I like them. Only major omission is Deep Purple. Unless I'm fried and you mentioned them and I missed it but either way Deep Purple are legends imo.

Ahh some love for David T. Chastain! Just out of curiosity, I looked up his net worth....he's worth over $50M!!! He's had his own label for a long time tho. Saw him with CJSS back in the mid-80's at a park during a summer free concert series thing Cincinnati was putting on at the time. Underrated is an understatement!. What a talent...a guitar virtuoso. Too bad he never really got his due. He works his ass off too....always has something going on.

@@2004flippy Come on. Some of those bands he put in front of them ive never even heard of. It was bordering on embarrassing. Their first 4 or 5 albums especially are 4 or 5 of the best 100 metal albums in history. Plus they’re arguably the most influential too. Ask other bands. Every album since, especially Death Magnetic, has still been good apart from maybe St. Anger. They’re easily in the top 10. They’re better than Megadeth in my opinion and he put them first. Either way if you or anyone else ranks those two bands that far apart, 45 spots in fact, then they’re making it personal. Not objective. Read any book on the history of heavy metal and band influences and you’ll see.

Alice in Chains is more metal than most of these hair metal bands if you ask me. Not big into 80's hair metal, so a lot of this isn't what I'd pick up. But still give you props cause I can tell you've listened to a lot of metal and you've really explored to find what you like.
