Thank you for placing Dokken ahead of Slayer, and it is refreshing to find another WASP fanatic. 100% concur with you on the Tony Martin years with Black Sabbath; "When death calls" enough said. I don't think they've invented anything in the world of science and technology to determine just what "better" is. Math and science attempt to be objective. Music is largely subjective. I'm not telling you what you're supposed to like. To argue otherwise is petty and juvenile, much like the obsession that I'm sure a good portion of Bryce's audience concerns themselves with Megadeth vs Metallica. Moreover, my list is always subject to change. This pissy attitude that some people have reminds me of a tyrannical father or some other authoritarian jerk-off trying to mind control me into voting for their candidate or even to vote at all. True metal and rock 'n' roll demands individualism, not following the herd. Make your own path, or in this case, a list.

Familiar with as many metal bands and that were the many years got exposed to and the new ones and ones I may have missed. Saxon would make into my top 10 and not be low. So love Saxon. Chastain would be higher maybe in no 20 or 19 position. David T and Leather and the band so love their stuff. He hailing from nearby Cincinnati and CJSS albums great as well. Underrated shredder. love these ranking videos by you. i usually find some new bands, i never heard of a lot of these. since i have been watching your channel, megadeth has been growing on me and is probably in my top 10 bands now, expecting them to be your #1 as usual. i'm typing this pretty early, i'm dreading to see how low metallica is on this list, they from time to time are my favorite band or close. you usually have them fairly low.

To my surprise a lot of bands I don't know, mainly thrash I guess. Considering your tastes it seems impossible you didn't include Kreator?? Maybe I blinked and missed it. Props for taking it to the man and including "glam" metal, always mad love to metallers who get Winger (and Ratt). Recommend you check out Kvaen from frostbitten north Sweden, his debut in 2020 "The Funeral Pyre" is awesome shredding black thrash metal, so good and I know you'd love it. I don't really consider Dokken "glam" myself. They certainly had glam elements and had a few radio friendly pop metal songs but there are some tracks on their first 4 albums that are straight up Traditional heavy metal. 1. Kiss of death 2. Tooth and nail 3. When heaven comes down 4. Don't close your eyes 5. When the lightning strikes again 6 Til the livin end 7. Lost behind the wall 8. Paris is burning (NWOBHM style) 9. Nightrider There are probably more just can't think of all of them right now

Awesome list. I haven't heard every band on this list but I agree with everyone I have heard. I would say that my favorite band that has put out a metal record is Linkin Park. My favorite band that is completely a metal band is a toss up between Deftones, Chevelle, and Spiritbox, with Deftones probably taking the spot. Also in my top metal bands would be Jinjer, Death, Disturbed, Evanescence, Ghost, and Make Them Suffer. Also I'm just curious since your list did include "modern" bands but didn't really include any "modern" genres. Do you like any bands from modern genres: nu metal, alternative metal, blackgaze, post-metal, post-black metal, metalcore, deathcore, mathcore?

You're not the only one that put Dokken ahead of Slayer. I did it because of George Lynch's guitar playing. And Dokken is definitely one of the best glam metal bands of all time. Their modern albums are fantastic as well.

@@lrn_news9171 When I first bought No Exit, I was a bit disappointed because John Arch had been replaced, and I didn't give it much attention, partly because I was so into the current albums by King Diamond, Chastain & Queensryche at the time. However, a year or so later, when corresponding with David Chastain, I asked him what he thought about Fates Warning and he said that Perfect Symmetry was really good. I had seen the video for "Through Different Eyes" on Headbangers Ball a few times and liked it, so I bought Perfect Symmetry and loved it. I then went back to the No Exit album with unbiased ears and liked it a lot too, but I like Perfect Symmetry and Awaken The Guardian the most. They started losing me with A Pleasant Shade Of Gray & Disconnected. There seemed to be no fire left in Ray's vocals, and what happened to the solos? There's like one per album. Still some good songs though. Don't really care for anything beyond that point.

My top 3 is the same except the order. My top 10 (I don’t have three years to type out 100 lol) 1. Iron Maiden (Always has and always will be #1 for me. Saw these guys 4 times. Always great but weak openers) 2. Megadeth (RIP for me is also the greatest album of all time. Holy Wars my favorite song of all time.) 3. Judas Priest (You would be happy to know that the best concert I ever saw by far was Judas Priest, Megadeth and Testament in 1990. You’re welcome youngster😉 Beyond the Realms of Death #2 song ever.) 4. Overkill (Consistently putting out great albums to this day. For me, the most underrated band. Have always been great but not really mentioned with the greatest.) 5. Testament 6. Kreator 7. Dio 8. Exodus 9. Candlemass 10. Sodom Metallica for me is one of the most overrated bands in history. I love their first four albums but they’ve been going for 40 years and a lot of people think they’re the best band ever and that’s not even close. Maybe an unpopular opinion but it’s mine. I only mentioned them because they are always mentioned as one of if not the greatest of all time. I would put them probably somewhere in the 20s.

I like Metallica personally, but I can understand why some people have their problems with Metallica. However for bands (rock, punk, metal, alternative, etc) They are up at the 9th spot in my top 10 bands of all time! I love Megadeth, but there are other bands that I like more personally. For the Priest vs Maiden battle, I'd go with Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden had to make it up on my top 5 at least. I had to have at least 1 metal band in my top 5 and Maiden made it on the list. The bands that beat them (3-1) were The Who, Green Day and The Beatles. Iron Maiden deserves top be in top 5 for bands of all time. Judas Priest barely made it to the top 10. The band that beat them up was The Cure. And besides Metallica and Iron Maiden, the only other metal band that made my top 10 was Motorhead.

The Black album was OK, a little more to the hard rock side, but everything after that besides the last 2 they went way away from their original thrash roots, and even the last 2 are more hard rock also. That’s why a lot of people have a problem with them. You see bands like Overkill, Testament, Exodus, Kreator, Sodom and other bands like that didn’t stray from their roots. They still put out great aggressive and fast thrash. My favorite genre is thrash. But either way, for me, I like it when a band stays true to their original sound. I’m not trashing Metallica, I’m just saying for 40 years they’ve been playing music, but only 6 to 8 of those years are really great music.

And instead of Anthrax, I put Sepultura! Beneath the Remains, Arise and Chaos AD (although it's not thrashy) are my favorite albums from them. Schizophrenia is awesome too!

I’m here listening to you and I am wondering whereabouts I’d seen you before Bryce. And then Pete Pardo came into the video and I said Aha! I’m going with you do far and We actually stayed with Sacrifice during our The Missing Link Eo after Coroners Office in’85 our own debut in the day and they’re answering guys personally outside freezing our balls off up there 👆 in Canada’s Northern Territories and We were very grateful for their hospitality. I am waiting for some more bands like Voi Vod? C’mon dude, they’ve been playing since the early eighties until now and they too we opened up for on the Outer Limits Tours. No Earache stuff besides Bolthrower; like say., Carcass or Napalm Death 💀 and too much to list. Ya knew that Mustaine wrote half of KEA and 3-4 from the RTL albums yet gets no credit. Metallica has a blueprint if you compare the Ride The Lightning ⚡️ and Master Of Puppets Lp’s. Literally the themes; length and topic matters are all the same thing and I don’t think it’s a bad idea for bands to use cover material except for totally ripping their catalogue off from underneath their vinyl noses. C’mon now. If it wasn’t for Cliff 🪦 RIP they wouldn’t have done nothing about covering the Misfits for certain. I’m not hating Bryce but I gotsta point out the hypocrisy and stupidity by waiting until say another 5 years or so and then We get Loads instead of something half way decent like the Garage Days Inc. ninus that obvious Seger; Skynyrd and basically all of Side Two of that stuff is terrible especially Whisky In A ajar by the greatest band in Ireland 🇮🇪 Thib Lizzy..? I also agree with you in picking Ted Nugent and the Double Live Gonzo really is the most amazing record.
