I had a boxer fracture two moths ago. Removed my splint one month ago and I was desperate as the range of motion was so poor. But I found this video and kept practice 2-3times a day, and now my finger range of motion has recovered fully, thank you so much!! how long did you took to close your hand again? i am in week 5 since i broke the same but i cant close my hand
@girasolamarillo66 Жыл бұрын
@@chocowild383 I think it depends on many factors such as age, severity of the accident and related diseases. I was able to close my hand fully in a fist 2 weeks after the cast has been removed (6 weeks after the accident). However I do not suffer from any bone or related diseases and I’m 25 year old. Although it’s been 71 days after the accident and I cannot use my hand in its full potential- can’t lift heavy things, do push ups and etc. Broken metacarpal usually recovers within 3 months after the accident.Hope you get better soon! I'm watching these exercises in tears because they're so intelligently designed, and because my PTs have been so brutal to me. Not only do they want me to do my exercises **four times** a day with ten reps each, but they making me force PROM stretches and have no intelligent sequence to the exercises, with the result that I'm getting bad rebound stiffness, locking, reduced ROM, and swelling. And they keep asking me if I'm actually doing my exercises and telling me to do more!! I've been so angry, I've been fighting with the main guy, but I'm not the expert here. They've terrorized me by telling me that if I don't achieve full ROM within three months, the scar tissue and adhesions will become permanent!! "Physical terrorists" indeed!! I don't know what to do; it seems like everything I do or don't do makes my hand worse. 😢😢😢 I'm going to give my hand a break and then try your sequence. Thank you. 🙏

I also make a "spock hand" and do the same with my other fingers. And alternate back and forth. Then I also do upwards and downwards mobility using the spock hand. Making sure index+middle finger go down and stay separated from ring+pinky which stay up, and vice versa. I definitely experience more resistance in the affected hand (middle finger), so I'm going to try to slowly push into that over the next few months.

Also, did you say to repeat those excersises every hour? What is the average time person return most of his finger mobility? My bone has healed "like a stone" , meaning great, but now I need to handle my reduced mobility - how long peopl eusually take to recover (I know every case is unique, but we are speaking in general). Will these exercises help with the hump? i feel it's maybe pressing on a nerve?
