Several of the biggest market experts have been voicing their opinions on exactly how awful they think the next downturn would be, and how far equities may have to go, as recession draws closer and inflation continues well above the Fed's 2% objective. I'm trying to build a portfolio of at least $850k by the time I'm 60, therefore I need suggestions on what investments to make.

After a terrible 2022, shell-shocked financial backers have a lot to think about and losses to recover from. An expansion report and a wealth of other data did little to alter assumptions that the Central bank would likely keep raising interest rates regardless of whether the economy slows down. This implies that portfolios will experience more losses during the first quarter of 2023. I'm currently at a crossroads deciding whether to exchange my $250k security/stock portfolio; how might the continuous market volatility work to my advantage?

One of the main reasons I have a portfolio coach supervise my daily investment decisions is that their whole skill set is focused on trading long and short while using profit-oriented strategies and avoiding risk as a hedge against inevitable downtrends. I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or whenever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

I followed your Fidelity Roth IRA video last year which was my first investment (outside the Government TSP) and this year I plan on maxing out the Roth IRA early and opening another investment account. My question is what are the benefits of jumping from brokerage to brokerage instead of staying with Fidelity. Love the breakdown. I've gradually built my finance and made my first $100k through investing, and with what I’ve learned over a decade investing, given enough time, solid investments have the potential to double the initial principal amount, but many investors are instead attracted to the lure of high yields in short periods of time despite the possibility of unattractive losses before even getting out. So the onus is on newbies to beware.
@Denniss202 жыл бұрын
@Linda Aramendiz As long as you diversify your portfolio, any single stock that you own shouldn’t have too much of an impact on your overall return. If it does, buying individual stocks might not be the right choice for you, as you can also try out the Roth IRA or I series bonds. Even index funds will fluctuate, so you can’t get rid of all of your risk, try how you might. With help, these are achievable. LEVI CLEMANS, a pro Fiduciary oversees my portfolio. IMO, I like the first 2 etfs but I wouldn’t invest in bonds bc bonds usually don’t give a high return but if you are conservative, adding a bond to your portfolio wouldn’t be a bad idea. Just depends on your risk tolerance n how long you plan on holding these.

So would it be ok to have FXAIX and FSKAK in my ROTH IRA?
@CageyLeigh2 жыл бұрын
I have pretty good stock diversification in Fidelity, but not so much in bond funds. I’ve looked at bond funds, but none really peaked my interest. Any suggestions?

FXAIX the workhorse of my 401k, FSKAX in my Roth IRA. Honestly the differences are minor

Have a question josh. You said some of these funds aren’t able to be traded over to a different investment company….what if I wanted to buy and sell within Fidelity? I’m currently invested in FZROX but need to switch to FXAIX immediately. I’m somewhat new to investing.
