Got the Netgear 970 with one satellite and got my new iPhone 16 Pro Max that has WiFi 7 and I see it’s connect to the 5 & 6GHz band. Love your video’s.

Firmwares are up to date, usually bug fixes. In terms of software, ASUS has a trillion options. Deco and Orbi are much more limited in terms of options, they have all the main stuff and a few other things but compared to ASUS, the options just don’t compare.

Amazing comparison video! Do you have uptime/reliability stats for each Wi-Fi mesh system? It’s one of the most annoying things about ASUS’s Ai-Mesh from my experience… the connectivity seems to break too often and doesn’t auto-heal, especially when mixing different ASUS routers.

From this list, I've used the Orbi 970 the longest, maybe collectively a few months. That's usually my default when I'm not testing. The rest have been fine, no issues with any of them, but most of them are tested for less than a month. I go through lots of routers so the long term reviews are difficult.

Thank you, this was so helpful! I just switched over to AT&T fiber and need to purchase mesh Wifi. Can you please help me decide between the XE70 Pro vs XE75 Pro? I will be doing WIRELESS backhaul. Below are some additional details: - AT&T plan is 500mbps, but I may increase to a max of 1000mpbs depending on performance - My home is 2500sqft (3500sqft if you include back outside patio) - AT&T provided router BGW320 is in farthest corner of home. - 8-15 devices using wifi at any given time (computers, phones, tv, smart home devices) - Most critical need is for work (zoom meetings, uploading, etc.) and streaming (smart TVs) Can you provide an recommendation XE70 Pro vs XE75 Pro (or another similar priced product)? Also, can you confirm how many nodes/units (2 or 3) you'd recommend? THANK YOU!!!

I thought I responded to this already but if I didn't. Either one is good (price will sway me), XE75 pro is slightly better for wireless backhaul speeds. I would opt for a 3 pack. Alternate would be Asus xt9 or Asus GT6. I would still opt for 3 pack even though 2 may be enough.

No mention of support. Netgear charges for support after 90 days. You also barely covered the need to pay to unlock full functionality, sometime at outrageous prices. Any hardware that requires a paid subscription is a deal breaker for me.

@landpet Great video as usual! Is the BE65 the same as the BE63? Im in EU and can't find the BE63 available. Is the 65 the model outside USA? Also if I added deco poe at a later date will the mesh to the BE65? Thanks

BE65 is a slightly better BE63 Yes, all decos are compatible with each other. Keep in mine, the BE65 is not a PoE router, it needs power from the wall.

I had cat 6e installed through out the house and two cat 6e ceiling connections so might put two poe there (have a poe switch for those set up also) and then the three be65 should cover everything between wired and wireless back haul The BE65 seem great value

It can depending on your speeds. General rule of thumb is to have your best router as your main router

If I can ask a question which mesh system. The option I need is to tell each of my Wi-Fi cameras which node to connect to in a mesh system. Currently I'm using Google nest Wi-Fi Pro which works fine except it's very limited to advanced settings. I don't necessarily need Wi-Fi 6. Because my upload and download is 300 300. Problem is sometimes my cameras switch to a different node that's further away and then I can't access them thanks for your help

Both good, whichever is cheaper. XE75 Pro has slightly better wireless backhaul speeds

My ISP is 1gb , Costco currently has the tp link deco be11000 WiFi 7 for $399 , however most of my home devices don’t support WiFi 7. Main concern is having good coverage and speed. Tried tp link axe5300 but had unstable connection. Tried eero pro 6e… seems a bit more stable but range to my backyard sucks. Whats your take on which mesh system to get? Should I invest in the Costco WiFi 7 deal to be ready for newer technology or stick to a less expensive mesh network like the eero 6+? Thanks

I decided for the Deco XE70 System. I using Wireless Backhaul for my NAS, Homeassistant and my slow german Internet connection (for you abroad), so the Asus GT6 Mesh System would the best option. But because of its design this router is out. I like reticent tech design which integrate in the background. Why must be the asus design so flashy?

I like both, the main advantage of the BE63 is the lower price. They should both be compatible with the modem.

You need to do Percentage loss when you do the speed test as eero 6+ was only losing like 10% while the Netgear was losing almost 40% of speed!!! So you have 5000Mbps coming in to a 5GB capable device (Netgear) then that's out-putting 3114Mbps download that a huge inefficiency. Where as the eero can only take 1000Mbps but outputs 892Mbps.

You’re correct but at the higher speeds, it’s much easier to lose speeds since the range is short for the crazy speeds.

Honestly I like a lot of the routers and it was a very tough decision to put this list together but just decided to move forward with this list. I'm still a fan of most of the Deco's along some of the others as well.

I purchased an asus a while back based upon its parental controls. It was garbage as it literally didn't do what it claimed. Asus never responded to emails so it was just easier to get my money back from the retail outlet. Never again asus!
