Rotator cuff tendons help to hold the ball and socket joint together. So if there is a tear in any of the tendons, then the movement at the ball and socket joint of the shoulder will be affected.
This is just one of the many reasons why there might be popping or clicking sounds coming from the shoulder joint.
It is not uncommon for someone with a shoulder injury to begin to have noises coming from the shoulder joint every time they move it a certain way.
In this video, Dr. David gives you his top 6 reasons for popping and clicking noises if you have a rotator cuff tear.

Very helpful vid once again. I have popping and clicking noise in my left bicep when moving my arm forward. My arm was injured in a backwards fall 5+ years ago.

Great, i just watched ur video on 13 tips to keep from having knee replacement (61yrs old) been athletic all my life, still in pretty good shape although i haven't worked my legs in 2 and a half years because of respiratory issues. Finally getting a handle on the breathing although my leg muscles have vanished. My medial part of both knees have become pretty sensitive depending on the day and weather right or left. I've had x-ray and MRI, was told bone on bone is starting to happen to both. Your video was pretty alarming because i don't want to completely stop strengthening (working out) and walking so i don't become so weak as i continue to age. I'm also dealing with Blood clots in both lungs so i'm on blood thinners for at least 2 more months so i'm starting to walk at least 1 mile everyday to help with the clots then i see ur video that informs me with knee issues to stop walking and don't do leg work. So i'm just suppose to stop walking on my own 2 feet without a cane or walker and no longer work my legs? What about bike riding?

I was diagnosed with full rotator cuff tear recently; Ortho surgeon recommended surgery instantly, which I strongly disagree. I insisted on trying conventional treatment first and be referred to a local physical therapist before my next follow up on how to proceed. I've been doing already some of your rotator cuff video exercises on the side for two weeks taking notes of your detailed information. It's always good to be fully informed; doctors don't have time to explain in length. I had my first PT evaluation last week and they were astounded by the strong range of motion on the affected arm in spite of the tear following your exercises regularly. I'm interested in your Rotator Cuff Recovery program and see if this would further help me avoid surgery. I would appreciate an email for more details and how to enroll.

Hey there, they may be able to help, however, results vary and more research is needed. We have seen it help clients but it seems to be a temporary fix. The root cause isn't addressed and the issue shows up again.
