All stations are very modernistic and outstanding but they’re also all paid departments. There are some really beautiful volunteer stations also.

Jim Devilbiss if a volunteer department can afford stations like these, perhaps they could pay for better staffing. Paid career members provide the best response times and best customer satisfaction.

Eric White Everybody deserves and needs a full time public safety department. If the station is so big and awesome, perhaps pay8ng a full time staff would be better, since people save people, not fire stations.

So even if it is a small town like 5,000 or less people you still say they need a full time station? Even if they get only one fire call a month one or two car crashes? For medical the volunteers can just go to the call with equipment they have that is needed right away while the ambulance is responding for the city or station. Where I live that is what they do. NO I DO NOT WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT IT THATS JUST WHAT I KNOW AND BELIEVE!!!

There are simply different department layouts and tactics which lead to different station structures. No hate about it at all, I actually stated that I like some of the stations! Maybe you see it as hate because I point out that America doesn't have the biggest in everything? I guess you aren't American?

Hay we do not have small stations but yes I agree we do have small stations as well. Are biggest station is like 8 bays about. They have 50 bay stations

Fire poles are going more and more out of style as they pose a serious risk of injury to firefighters, especially during the night shifts or after several hard calls. This is why most stations have their on-call rooms at the same level as the apparatus, while other levels are reserved for offices, training rooms, dispatch and such things.

None in Midland MI. We believe that one of the stations did but they removed it or still have it but no longer in use... I am young still in high school and I thank the reason we had it was as a tower. We only have three stations and that station is our main station. I did ask some fire personal and they say they either use stairs or are converting stations with poles to everything on the one floor or in some places having things underground and units on top as seen in the video.

@schemer1911 we in dallas still have stations with poles in them I believe we currently have 4 stations that still have poles but I'm not 100% on that. Btw I do work for dallas fire as well #DFR
