The Green Meanie rather than the Jem, as that was a custom build by Groover Jackson that Steve then further modified, it then served as the basis for the pre Ibanez 'Jem' custom builds and finally for the Jem itself.

Amazingly, this is the first list of custom guitars I’ve seen that actually included the Jag-Stang. Even Guitar Geeks list of weird custom instruments didn’t mention it. Obviously, I’m a fan and own a sonic blue reissue. It’s totally a love hate relationship. I love the feel, but she took a long time to set up and get feeling just right. And the struggle starts anew with every string change. Only Floyd Rose guitars have given me more trouble

The Tiger guitar that Doug Irwin made for Jerry Garcia. I love Rosebud too mostly because the onboard midi meant that Jerry didn’t gave to change guitars during the show, something he didn’t like to do. An interesting side note the first show that Jerry played with a midi was right here in the twin cities (Met Center in Bloomington) in April 1989.

Building a 4001 Rickenbacker Bass, all Ric Hardware but for Upgrade to Leo Quan Bad Ass Bridge, Nitro Paint, just routed a custom tortoise shell pickguard , Dropped the cover on rear pick up add small chrome cover with thumb rest. So my Dream Guitar has about a month or less before done. Some things You just can't Rush

My fav is the Clapton because of how diverse it is, can get those glassy fender sounds, and still get an awesome gibson type humbucker sound, very diverse guitar,.extremely comfortable to play!

Not really custom, but John Mayer’s black1 is one that he had designed with a relic paint job and custom pickups. It sounds amazing. As John put it “It has the 4th position pickup from heaven”

I would have gone with Mark Knopfler's Pensa Mk 1 on this list. It was designed on a napkin by Mark and New York guitar store owner/guitar builder Rudy Pensa in the late 1980s as a guitar that could sound both like Mark's '61 Fender Strat and his '58 Gibson Les Paul, as he was getting tired of having to constantly switch between the two guitars while performing. The guitar was first heard on Dire Straits' final album, On Every Street, and has been a part of Mark's solo career ever since. If you've ever watched the Guitar Stories documentary with him and David Ilsley, you'll know that they talk extensively about the Pensa and its creation and that it's a guitar with a kickass sound to it.

Bellamys guitar is a cool thing. It has the midi-interface yes, but how it works is so innovative. It has an internal Raspnerry based computer in it. It's really interesting stuff! It's a great read.
