Holy crap! I wrote a few tracks for a publishing company last year and I must have done 100 takes, not because of my performance but because of the static sounds the electrics in my guitar were producing! I didn't have money or time to get my guitar cleaned up. This would have saved me a whole lot of takes!

Hey guys, I have a problem that I think only your software can solve. I recorded a live stereo track of guitar chord strumming and solo vocals... OUTSIDE with SEVERAL ambient bleed-ins from cicadas. It was a fun morning session, but the cicadas are WAY too loud and they only pop in and out here and there with these crescendos and decrescendos. I think I tried fixing it with your software's trial mode, but I don't think I'm experienced enough to actually do this well. I'm probably going to buy the full version for other reasons, but will the software help isolate the guitar and vocals so I can bring them out above these terrible sounds?

Short answer: no. Long answer: it's possible but not simple, and increased latency seems likely to finish off whatever dreams you had for this idea. One day I pray it will be possible! Let it come sooner than later.

Being an audio restoration engineer, I'm all for tools that remove noise and problems caused by bad earthing or imperfections inherent in the recording media, but what on earth is the goal here? To make the music sound as processed and as unnatural as possible? This recent obsession with removing all the idiosyncrasies that make musicians sound human, is just getting silly.

Easy, just don't use it.
@ShellacScrubber4 жыл бұрын
@@isaiascastro8821 Yeah, but the rant was more to do with this silly new trend rather than the tools themselves. I just find it a little sad that current recording and post production techniques often seem to be moving further and further away from preserving the fidelity of the original recording.
