I have two Echos and a Studio speaker. I have another still in the box and I’m putting upstairs in my sewing room. If my housemate ever gets her office moved into the finished basement another goes there! My bedroom Echo reads me to sleep, and wakes me with a weather report. In the kitchen it plays music and sets timers as I cook. Love them. I don’t have to wait for the one to be on with classical music. I can play my favorites from the sixties and seventies when I want! Oh yes! Shopping List! I get what I need, not what looks good!

My sister inlaw brought an Echo Dot Saturday to us as a gift. Her daughter messed around and asked where my husband is. Gave our entire address. That old country man said, "hell no. Get that sh.... out of here. He was dead serious. 😀😀 I explained that it's connected with our Amazon account information. Brother didn't want to hear that. One of us has to go; it's either me or Alexa. My stone Rockmart, Georgia man has spoken. 😀😀😀😀

The very first thing I hear every morning thanks to Alexa is “Wake the fuck up Samurai, we’ve got a city to burn” in the default Alexa voice. It’s the very first thing I set up the day I got my Alexa.

@@AakashKale27 I used voice monkey which is an Alexa skill ($6 per year for a subscription with 2 weeks free trial last I checked) in combination with the Shortcuts app on my iPhone. Also you have to type “fuck” like “fûck” or something like that or Alexa will just automatically bleep it out. I stopped using it after my free trial because I’m a cheapskate but maybe it’ll be worth it for you. You can pretty much have Alexa say whatever you want and even have Alexa ask you custom yes no questions I think.

@@AakashKale27 also you don’t actually need Apple Shortcuts. I just used it because I wanted the message to change everyday and give me info like the weather and my reminders from my Reminders app.

I don't know how I ever cooked before I had Alexa. The cooking timers are priceless! I now have 5 Echo devices, 2 of which are the tall tower speakers. They really jam and make working fun!

She'll respond to any voice. You have to train her to know who's who. And then she still asks if this is person A or person B. I was watching this with the volume on very low and still she replied once with some dumb shit

It does Not listen to your every word. It only listens when you speak her name to call her up to ask her something or to do something for you. You can opt for it Not to save anything on the Cloud. I chose that option to not save things to Cloud. It is so nice to listen to music when you choose and you can change it without even getting up to make it happen.

Viola Brill you just made my point “You have to Opt Out” to not have it store to the cloud the default is your Opted in where allot of people don’t realize “They Have To Opt Out” how many stories have you heard of packages arriving because it’s ordered by Alexa over a few words “I want --“ . Just because you don’t have to get off your butt to change music isn’t a great reason.

Some of that is the placement of the device. Ideally not close to a wall. Also, I went in and turn the bass all the way down and it still has plenty of bass.
