I like how older anime series had vocal groups singing opening songs, much like Rainbow Sentai Robin had. Kaizoku Ouji is where Toru Furuya made his voice acting debut, and would be Toei's first pirate themed anime years before One Piece. Marine Kid no Uta, Yuusei Kamen, Jungle Taitei:Susume Leo and Mahou Tsukai Sally's opening I also like.

The Sally OP is honestly the first anime OP that is actually somewhat listenable. I don't think I'd ever go out of my way to listen to it outside of while watching the show, but it's at the very least not grating on my ears.

Far from the from the first one. You just haven't gotten your ears checked because you're too busy blaming the music. Anime themes from this time period are charming and groovy.
