I painted my calipers red and its hella fast now, I might upgrade to Brembo stickers for extra boost in the future.

First thing i went for were stage 1 tune, wheels, and the eibach sport set springs, people should check Rieger tuning out aswell, they offer attachable strips for the sideskirts, rear and front spoiler. Pretty easy to install aswell.. went for a Injen air intake after that one and a Milltek exhaust catback. Awesome vid Lucas! I stil learn a lot from seeing your video's, bought the aliexpress wing aswell from your other vid! Keep on goin!

@LucasHuang6 жыл бұрын
TBH I haven't heard much about that catback in general but what I do know is if you want a cheaper option just take off the muffler and it'll be louder. A lot of people have CTS catback or the AWE ones. Either or it doesn't matter that much in terms of performance as long as you have a good DP. I personally will have a shop fabricate a straight pipe for me instead of buying one from some company.

@edwinrueda2514 жыл бұрын
Apr stage one costs about 500+ usd, intake can be anywhere from 200 to 700 depending on what you buy, likewise with down pipes.

My only issue with the JB4 is that I've heard it caused some problems with reliability. Maybe that is just a BMW problem though.
@LucasHuang5 жыл бұрын
I mean they are pretty popular in the BMW world so I guess that one may be more specific. I’ve had my JB4 for about 2 years now and not a single issue, no EPC, no CEL.

Stage 1 tunes with dsg. Are dsg tunes always a separate thing? And why do i need it? Meaning i spend a few hundred for the tune and another few hundred for the dsg tune? Great channel amd straight to the points, keep it up
@LucasHuang5 жыл бұрын
it's so the DSG can adapt to the extra power. like like the clamping pressure and the higher shift points. think of it like buying a clutch for a manual

Hey man first off great video! All the info was great. Second, Im planning on getting a mark 7.5 gti very soon and was wondering does it matter if I get a jb4 tune and then get an apr stage 2 tune or do I have to get a stage 1 apr tune to go to 2 later?
@LucasHuang6 жыл бұрын
+Carlos Robalino Jb4 isn’t really a tune, it’s a plug and play module. Once you unplug it, the car is back to stock. But you can go straight to stage 2, but you will need a DP. And also if you’re DSG I highly recommend getting the TCU tune at the same time for stage 1 or 2.
@carlitos1191996 жыл бұрын
Oh ok, thanks for replying and for all the info, cant wait for your next upload!
@mlr4926 жыл бұрын
To be clear, because the video doesn’t mention this. The only one to maintain a factory warranty an APR Plus tune. Which is effectively the stage 1 tune with the same fueling as the stock car receives. Doing all other work to brand new engine can void the factory warranty.
@Mk5forLife5 жыл бұрын

What do you think about COBB tuning..heard some good stuff about them..just not sure
@LucasHuang5 жыл бұрын
They're okay. Their power output is pretty conservative compared to everyone else. But I like the access port cause you can get a custom tune with it and you can flash back to stock anytime you like

Will Stage 1 pass the NY State Emission test?
@tom.mk7_1515 жыл бұрын
The only thing that wouldn't pass emissions is if you got the stage 2 tune because it needs a High flow cat or cat less downpipe. It will throw out codes for non optimal performance from the cats. If you want to mod past stage one you run the risk of this. In Florida we don't have to pass emissions because we don't have the tests, thank god.

So jb4 tune wouldn’t void my warranty?
@alwaysfrosty25415 жыл бұрын
Yeah what it does is pretty much trick the ECU into thinking it is underperforming and the ECU compensates for it which ends up creating more power. It doesn’t change any codes or flash the ecu at all so the dealers can’t tell as long as you unplug the jb4 before turning the car in
@thebasiks235 жыл бұрын

@jasonmotanky734 жыл бұрын
No need to do any preformance mods untill you get off the stock tires. Slip spin
@ARentz074 жыл бұрын
I agree - with the caveat that the stock tire size works fine if it's a sticky enough tire. Running Cobb stage 1 and it hooks up decently still.
@MarkJCarruthers6 жыл бұрын
The first mod should be accompanied with an IC.
@LucasHuang6 жыл бұрын
You're not wrong at all but I think it depends as well. For example, me in NYC where summers are only like 3-4 months of the year, is it really worth it to drop $6-700 for a quality IC when I'm not at the track or drag. If someone is at the track in Florida, or the drag strip in Cali then yeah definitely.

@matt nelson how do they detect JB4?
@MeltingRubberZ285 жыл бұрын
@matt nelson yeah I figured they could potentially see the wiring harness modification. As far as the firewall, that could have been from anything (ie a stereo) so they couldn't deny it from that alone. Definitely would need to tap that wire in a good, inconspicuous location.
@MeltingRubberZ285 жыл бұрын
@matt nelson that would be a breach of contract as they would have to prove the car was modified. As for the maintenance topic, while that is true, that is irrelevant. If you have receipts of oil changes, VW is content. My buddy just had VW put a new motor in his GTI under warranty and that's all they asked for. It actually even had an APR intake, the plus tune, and a cat back. It was clearly a timing chain failure so they warrantied it.
