It's very sad seeing all those horse chestnuts like that isn't it Shaz? It first started happening on the farm I grew up on quite a few years ago now… and several old big ones have fallen down as a result... And I don't tend to do woods because the root systems make it almost impossible to dig and then when you do find something it's always a cartridge end! Too many people standing under trees shooting pigeons! Anyway sorry to bang on - Hope all well with you two and that you're having a good weekend! Ally X

When you say “I bought a new field” does this mean you pay the farmer for the privilege?

Hi A Hummerich, thank you very much for watching! If I did say "bought a new field " I didn't mean to... And some metal detecting groups and rallies often pay the farmer for metal detecting rights and some farmers definitely try to charge a bit so it does happen and why not? We all have to make a bit of money where we can sometimes! And I probably would pay the farmer a bit if he asked me but most don't and I happy to split profits on larger items or share the finds if they're interested… Hope all well with you and that you have a great weekend - all the best, Alexander
