@@seunelugbaju7933 Living in Abbeywood is safe. There are many primary and secondary schools (if you have kids) nearby the train station is not too far. Also, (Kent) Bexley borough, Dartford and Crayford are lovely places to live and very close to London and still as red buses. All this place mentioned are close to Woolwich.

Crawley - same problems as Surrey. More open space but a little less diverse, if that's important to you. Travel times to Central London are good, but you would be so far out geographically that it would cost a fortune, think £30-40 per day. Also, being a smaller less densely populated town actually means that local shopping and transport options are limited. Lifelong Londoner hear, and I cosign everything this lady said. The rent prices are higher now, but if your smart and well informed, (and happy to live among people from different cultures), then its actually far cheaper and easier to live in the city than the rest of South East England.
