@@thomgizziz okay, you're either someone who really struggles with the idea of being a part of a team/needs to feel in control to get things done, or just truly an internet troll looking to create some rage (if it's the latter, you clearly have already gotten that reaction from a couple people.) this thought isn't totally flawed, but it depends on the context. in this context, she is a renowned chef who is giving Josh really helpful feedback while telling him what she likes and doesn't like. that's how you *learn*. i'm an artist, if i didn't have people to critique my work who are more technically skilled than me to tell me what's looking right, and give me feedback as to what can make it better, i would never really improve because i'd never figure out what i'm doing that's not working. in a situation where you are told you cannot speak up, where the critique is actually flat out criticism, and they are taking credit for your work while forcing you to do it their way, which i would say is a common situation in a lot of creative field workplaces, complementing the manager on their good work is just bullshit and giving them credit where credit is not due. (same goes the other way when people criticize creators of something as if they were given a choice instead of just being told to do it by their boss.) you're not wrong in general but in this situation i think you're looking at it much too cynically.
