If you are interested in where the first cards card art came from, it was used in the kickstarter for 'dungeons and doggies' which is an adventure designed by a close friend of mine in which an entire dungeons and dragons roster was created entirely with dogs. there was a hugely successful kickstarter raising hundreds of thousands! i recommend you guys check it out.

Rise of Mors Certa makes me thing of a "curse" card. So instead of something that you do to fulfill the quest, you must survive a curse long enough to get a cool reward. Kind of like a quest with a big downside, but a massive upside once completed.

Fix for Queen Az'Shara -> Battlecry: For the rest of the game, replace your hero power with a random 1-Cost Priest spell. That way, like Dr. Boom mad Genius, there are high and low rolls preventing you from just casting Mind Vision every turn.

You're not counting the card you draw each turn for the warlock quest five taps would only leave you 2 turns to kill your opponent.

He said only three taps (plus two natural draws) or maybe four taps plus three natural draws. With that strategy, you would play the quest on turn 3 and tap the same turn, and you would still have 5-7 turns to kill your opponent after doing so.

design - 4 stars (bad picture) balance - 3 stars. I give this card 3 star balance because it is extremely powerful. It is possible to draw up to 4 mage secrets, which is nuts for a 2 mana charge card, which also has a divine shield. Maybe if the card is 3 mana would be a little better

I actually really liked his Guinea Pig card. The charge/divine shield is also really smart because it will survive almost all of the traps it triggers (with freezing trap being the exception, and even then it's still in your hand.) so it's not like you're playing something that just dies when it does it's job.

But you don't need to play the quest on the first turn. If you play normal zoo stuff the first 3 or so turns until you have a bunch of demons in your hand, play quest, start tapping and flooding the board with mega buffed low cost demons. If you can't win from that position within 7 or so turns you would've lost anyways

Gabriel Garcia no need to play it until you have demons in your hand. Why not play it on turn three and then start tapping? That gives you more effective turns.

charlie reade in my example I did wait until I had imps in my hand... you still only have 4-6 turns, I don’t see how people are getting this 7 turns to live from its 12 - (2m + n) = L where m is the number of turns tapping and n is the number of turns passed without tapping. Now maybe 5 or 7 turns is still too high. Then they should make it 10 turns. But the design of the card is still good, saying “quest rewards should be good” is kinda limiting design space for no reason at all

It would make the quest really bad i think, you will play bad demons for 15 turns just to get a hand full of buffed demons in the late game. If the opponent is smart enough he'll keep a couple of hard removal to deal with your stuff (if their class allows that ofc). You also don't really wanna hero power when you're close to fatigue, because of the fatigue damage ofc and also because you'll have taken shit load of damage already because you are a warlock in the late game with bad cards.

I give guinea pig 3 stars design (1 star reduction for bringing animal stesting to hearthstone and 1 for guinea pigs not being typical wow beasts and typically not having divine shield) and 5 stars balance. The spell reflector is a play on a mechanic from the Final Fantasy series where you can apply the "Reflect" buff to a party member and then target them with a spell to bounce it off them and hit the enemies for 2x damage.

I legitimately like rite of Mon Certa. I think quest is the best card type for such an effect. Unlike most quests you play for the journey and not the end. However it's mana cost is too low for +2/+2 for 6 turns on all the cards in your hand

Trump DID count start of turn card draw for the Warlock quest as well. He suggested tapping 3 times (including 2 turns), then quest progress would be at 5/12 and you would still have 7 turns left to defeat the opponent.

Paco is actually nuts. Not only does it cast a spell, say Blessing of Authority, on all of your minions (and theirs, but presumably you'd clear first), but it also casts AGAIN on the main target.

Rite of Mors Certa is like stimming a marine. You lose your health for stronger units. You are not "questing to die" when you stim a marine, but you do have more limited health. You have to get the extra damage in before you die

I think the Quest to Die is actually okay... if you don't play it immediately. For example, if you wait until you have 11 cards in deck then play it, no downside. But then you're holding onto that forever.

I just thought: Toki->Leroy+cold blood->shadowstep->pass->Leroy+cold blood->shadowstep->Leroy. 31 damage to the face from an empty board in "1" turn (26 from Leroy and 5 from Toki). Also, Azshara is a mage, not a priest. Also also that Guinea Pig is pretty cool. I do think that we should get the occasional charge card, especially for hunter and warrior.

It's worth noting that Queen Az'Shara is classically a mage, so that might be worth docking a point in design. They actually mention it a bunch in wow that's she's one of the strongest mortal mages ever. Edit: Also blizzard please print Secret Deal, my quest rogue deck needs it.

One of the key design failures of Rite of Mors Certa is that you would never, ever, want to play it on turn 1. Some people tried to mindgame with the priest quest, tricking people into damaging them before the reveal, and sometimes there is a 1 mana play that's more important, but generally you should want to play quest on turn 1.

About Paco: Spell amplifier isn't really correct either. He doesn't amplify the spell, he duplicates it. Also something you didn't mention is that you could use him for makeshift boardclears as well as he would cast single target damage spells on every minion as well. Plus (the way I understand the wording) hammer of wrath would draw you 1 card for each minion on the board.

Toki, the Time Bender in priest would be so bad. You skip first 3 turns, play Toki at 4 turn. Turn 5: -2 mana elemental, spells costs 1 less -double power word: shield (5/8 Toki) -double divine spirit (5/32) -inner fire (32/32)

I like guinea pig a lot but I don't like the fact that there are quite a lot of secrets it can't trigger thus being a lot of the time just a 2 Mana 1/1 with charge. Now that's pretty weak. What I would suggest is possibly changing it to add a copy of the first secret that triggers to your hand while it's on the board.

Warlock Quest is so busted that it could be played as an end game card in a control deck. It's kinda like playing Myra Unstable Element, you burn your deck but you're already holding your win conditions so you don't really care about that. With Rite of Mors Certa you would play it at the end when drawing 12 cards isn't that important (maybe you have less than 12 cards left in the deck) and it becomes a huge swing against slow decks. Dealing each turn with boards of +4/+4 minions isn't easy
