He parked there, put on a “disguise”, went over on foot with his tools, lit the car on fire, tried to get back to his quickly, dumped his “disguise” - And by that time, heard the sirens! So instead of being the only car driving around an empty neighborhood when the cops were coming in, he thought to hide in his car and hope they didn’t realize anyone was in it. He thought the police would just go right past- and it’s be less suspicious than him driving his car. It's some kind of loneliness coupled with extreme narcissism/entitlement. In order to whale in a community like that, you have to have a lot of money. A lot of people that have money like that are the "evil CEO" types who have no qualms about doing literally anything to make their money. It's just a form of sociopathy, really. They have no conscience and will just do anything that they find expedient in the moment. There is no internal moral compass that they possess that will ever deter them from any action. But honestly, the loneliness is almost a red herring. It's probably more a fantasy-based power trip for them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to learn that they guy in the video actually has a wife or something. It's probably all just an insane ego trip for the guy -- which explains why he freaked out so irrationally when he found out his online trophy has a boyfriend. It's not "jealousy" in the conventional sense of the word; he's just mad that it messes up his ego trip. It isn't all about him anymore. He never cared about the woman other than the extent to which it made things all about himself, feeding his ego.

He probably still would have been caught, just not as quickly, as other cameras in the neighbor hood saw his car. The license plate would probably have been recorded somewhere and it would have been traced back to him eventually. My guess is he wanted to make sure the car was destroyed and stayed around to witness it, too bad for him though it was noticed by the car's owner sooner than expected and the cops came around too quickly for him to escape. If he suddenly drove off, it would look more suspicious so he tried to make his fake story work despite the obvious evidence did not mesh with it at all.

Using police dogs is sketchy though. The cops can get them to react however they want and many times the dog will pick up on queues from its handler and react to that even if the handler isn’t trying to change how the dog acts. I love that we have bodycam footage, since police wear cameras now. I've learned a lot and just enjoyed seeing all the insanity that occurs, and even re-thought some aspects of my life bc of its availability now. This is really frightening, and I'm also so glad everyday people can have everything on camera now. I have a camera on my apt door, for cheap! So glad this guy was caught that easily, and I'm sure he stayed nearby bc he wanted to see the chaos ensue, and he got chaos, just not the way he wanted. These cops did a good job w/ taking the story apart by feeling the car hood, seeing no luggage, imprint of the box in the back seat, and all these detective moves they did! And were respectful and not over the top.

If I was a betting man, I'd guess that the box was thermite. The sparkler is used to start the reaction and it drips molten iron

Yea you need something that burns hot like magnesium to ignite thermite. Sparklers are easier to get than magnesium strips

@@box_of_things and to boot, spell check won’t catch this particular error, because “censuring” does exist, it’s just an unrelated word.

Should there be laws against scammers? Just asking because that's the other side of the coin. Many people both males and females are scammers these days because the internet has made it so easy.

It’s pretty irritating. I’ve been caught with weed and arrested before and I didn’t tell them I had weed until they searched me but I wasn’t acting all clueless when they found it and I didn’t try to pull the “it’s not mine! I’m holding it for someone!” and just accepted that I was in trouble.

I ended up moving about 4 hours away from an older brother that was robbing me for years, was a violent intimidation theme, and after not only he was robbing me, but his girlfriend who he and her created a scam involving them claiming she was only a roommate on paper in order to get thousands of dollars per year they didn't qualify for. I could turn him in, but if his girlfriend's clepto firebug toned smiley tall kid that says fires make em go to a better place..turning those type of people in could result in my ending up in a unmarked grave or a unmarked urn.

Someone on the original dash cam video made a good point. He could have been the only person driving out of this neighborhood at 3am when the cops were coming in and gotten pulled over immediately or he could lay down and hope they passed him by, he tried but it didn't work.

But I think he had enough time to simply drive away. It took a few minutes for the call to go out and the fire fighters and officers to get there.
@sexyangel072
@sexyangel072 2 күн бұрын
I forgot to add, driving at 3am isn’t enough to stop you. Police need probable cause to stop you and unless he matched a description they couldn’t stop him. Now randomly sitting on the street in an area that normally doesn’t have cars parked there is suspicious.
