I'd love to have a sled like that one! Been going through some tough financial times but I have faith that I will get something soon! Snowmobiling is in my blood!

I hope things turn around for you soon. A decent sled can help you forget the hard times and there is still plenty of time for that to happen before the season starts. Thanks for watching man.

Doing the same thing on a 2001 MXZ 800. How do you add the coolant, I’m concerned about air pockets?
@Paisteboy2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. You need to get the air out of the system. I believe we hoisted the front end up off the ground with a strap to the garage ceiling and ran it. You have to get all of the air out.

I plan on rebuilding my millennium 700 this summer. I've heard other guys mention things about ring gaps for the pistons, could you shed a little Insight on how the rings are sopposed to sit? If I remember right the concave edge is on top and the all flat edge is the bottom right?
@Paisteboy3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I never got back to you sooner. We really just put the new one on the same way the old ones we on so I really couldn't tell you as I am not a mechanic and done have a rebuild book on this motor. Sorry I'm not more help. Hope you rebuild went well this summer. The season will be here before you know it.

Paisteboy u got lucky when u run it out of oil usually the oil pump will seize and not work because it won’t have lube on it

Yeah. My brother did get lucky. The sled ran great after that and I believe the new owner has had no problems with it that I know of. Thanks for watching.

hey paisteboy did you put anything on your base gasket or just fit it dry? I just put my 700 back together and it's leaking coolant.
@Paisteboy8 жыл бұрын
No. We didn't put anything on the gasket. Check to see if the head is warped or maybe things were over tightened?
@alexfarrar53897 ай бұрын
"I'd never put a base gasket on dry without cleaning the case and the cylinder bases with some 3m red scotch brite and brake clean or solvent. Then apply a very thin layer of threebond or black permatex" Cast aluminium is porous and can be pitted. Depending on which gasket kit you purchased? If it was from Bombardier they are excellent Cometic is second best in my honest opinion Windarosa Vertex are garbage. If it's leaking at the base then id say drain the coolant pull the cylinders asap and start over. Over tightened or torqued could very well cause i the base gasket to be crushed resulting in the scenario you have at hand. Any coolant leak is a tell tale sighn it could be sucking air / vacuum. Wich will cause a lean condition wich is not good. Good luck hope you get it straightened out 👍🏁

I just bought a top end rebuild kit im rebuilding the same sled. It came with 3 of those green gaskets. It appears 1 is thicker then the rest and then of the other 2 it seems like one is a slightly different material. Which one goes where?
@Paisteboy5 жыл бұрын
We only had one gasket for the head and installed that. I'm not sure why you got multiple gaskets. The gasket that we used felt like a strong cardboard paper.
@king12312310011 жыл бұрын
Sounds good. Did the rattling stop. What was it ?
@Paisteboy11 жыл бұрын
Yeah the rattling stopped. It was a lost socket that my brother dropped under the engine that we never found. It caused that rattle until it rattled out of that bad spot.
@bombidude8 жыл бұрын
During the first rebuild did you guy like the cageless needle bearings?
@Paisteboy8 жыл бұрын
No. Not a fan of the cageless needle bearings. Just another thing to fall apart.
@Gravitycreatedlife6 жыл бұрын
I know this an old video but where did you buy rebuild kit?
@Paisteboy6 жыл бұрын
My brother ordered it online. Not exactly sure from where, but if you do a google search for your model sled and motor size that you have you should be able to find many options. Good luck and thanks for watching.

Hello! Same thing happened to my sled kinda. I have an 01 MXZ600 trail and it has piston slap. I ordered a new top end (same as you guys). The inside of the cylinder is a little scored up but not too horrible. Do you think that’s gonna cause me any issues?
@Paisteboy5 жыл бұрын
It could. I would have someone with more experience take a look at them to be sure.
@cheesecakemoto95035 жыл бұрын

I have a 2001 mxz 800 adrenaline. It does not have a carb heat knob/hose. The guy I bought it from drained coolant half way out last year. So I added coolant to top it off. How do i get the air out? Thx
@Paisteboy Жыл бұрын
You have to lift the front of the sled in the and run it to burp it.
@thezacharykoerickshow31739 жыл бұрын
do you need to bleed the oil?
@Paisteboy9 жыл бұрын
Zachary Koerick We never did.

Sweet I've never rebuilt a snowmobile only bikes just picked up a 04 f7 with 4200 will be rebuilding it just to be safe
@Codyrosa9 жыл бұрын
+Zachary Koerick If you take off the online injection lines I'd highly recommend you do otherwise there could be an air bubble in there.. If its like my sled it takes a total of 5 seconds.. seriously. Theres a screw you loosen and when the oil comes out of it you tighten it and thats it!
@thezacharykoerickshow31739 жыл бұрын
Cody Rosa yeah I did it. Very easy to bleed it just replacing the hose from the oil tank to the injector was a pain! I needed 3 year old hands for that.
@Codyrosa9 жыл бұрын
+Zachary Koerick haha i hear you there! luckily I have a 90s polaris indy so its probably a little more easy to get at but still.. if I didn't remove the carbs, or the airbox or even the fuel lines.. i'd have a heck of a time trying to replace that oil line.
