GIRL. I wish I had heard that your hair curl type doesn’t matter a longgggg time ago!!! So true it just leads to comparison and asking yourself “why doesn’t my hair look like hers?!” Texture and porosity are so much more important. Thank you for this!!!

Congratulations on your curliversary! And yay for being blonde... I too decided when I started this curly journey I would rather be blonde than be curlier! 18 months into it I have 2C/3a, fine textured, high porosity curls and I still get my highlights every 3 months - thank goodness for Olaplex! Love your videos!

Olaplex is, indeed, a lifesaver!! I only get my color done about twice a year because it always grows out so nicely but I’m not giving it up 😂

I’ve spent my morning watching your videos, and they are GOLD! I got lazy the other day and decided to go natural. People lost their minds! I’m tempted to go back to my natural curls and stop straightening all the time...

Thanks for the tips! It would be nice if you provided links to items you recommend, like that sleep bonnet. There are SO many different versions and styles. Yet I’m not seeing one like what you held up. If you could reply with an Amazon link, etc we’d really appreciate it!! 💕

Awesome tips- thank you!! I started in January and my "waves" have become full-on ringlets! 😁 BUT, I still have heat and bleach damage to recover from and, recently, I think my protein/moisture balance is off, bc I've noticed some breakage. 😖 I still get discouraged.... even 8 months in! *PATIENCE* Sooo very necessary!!
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
Patience is EVERYTHING, girl!! Sounds like your transition is going great though! If you’re seeing frizz from breakage I definitely suggest a good DC treatment to restore your elasticity. Keep me posted! 💛

@@TheFitCurls Thanks for the ❤, Ange! Today's actually my wash day, so I'm def going to do a nice 30min dc mask. Also, my (very 1st) Bounce Curl order comes today and I'm SO excited!! From what I've heard, their products are super hydrating, so...... here's hoping. 🤞😁🤞 I'll let you know if it works! 💜

@@TheFitCurls *Update!* You're not gonna believe it! My hair had suddenly gotten so dry and brittle that I decided, for the 1st time ever, to try NOT using a 'hold' product. 😱 I used a leave-in and curl cream- but NO gel, or mousse, or hairspray- and, giiiirl.... amazingly, my hair looks and feels the BEST it ever has! Defined, frizz-free, bouncy and so, so soft. I was shooketh!! I had to share this with someone who understands how momentous this is. I think I'm out of transition and my hair is, dare I say.... "healthy"?? 🤯 😄 I'm very thrilled! 🥳 💜

I have high porosity hair. My hair loves protein. I never knew there was a connection. I still struggle on definition and it’s been over a year. I need some hands on help with technique. My problem area is the back of my head. I have a cowlick and thin hair in the crown area. I’m 59. It’s terrible

Hi Angela, I'm new to your channel and totally love the content. I'm just transitioning into curly hair.. any tips on how to make my curls at the lower half of my head to curl better. The hair tends to straighten out in just a few hours after I style it. I hardly straightened my hair ever. Buy really love your videos especially the bloopers 🙈😃🤣

Another good tip is technique is just as important (sometimes more important than) products.

Love this. Thank you so much for your information and this channel. A lot of the products, including silk products are from black women and are Black owned. Would love to see a shout out to them for paving the way in the video and more links to Black owned products!

Hi Heidi, thanks for watching!! I always include a list of 50 black-owned hair brands in the description of every video and frequently use products from several of those brands! The Natural Hair Movement paved the way for white women with curls to properly care for them and I’ll always be grateful and give credit where it’s due 💛

Is it possible to have low porosity hair even though I have highlights? I find that water beads up on my hair and it seems like it takes awhile to get water in? Yet it also feels like it stays damp awhile and can overly moisturize???? I'm so confused. I know I have baby fine... like baby fine hair, super soft and I believe medium density. But porosity is confusing me.
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
It’s absolutely possible!! I don’t blame you for being confused - porosity is probably the most confusing aspect of hair to grasp! I highly suggest talking to your stylist to identify your particular grade of porosity and figure out the right product types and regimen for you :)

Angela posted a video on protein moisture balance where she refers to the following porosity test - take a strand of your hair and rub your fingers up and down it. If it feels bumpy you have high porosity and need moisture. If it feels smooth you have low porosity. My hair takes a lot to get wet, but when I did that test it was clear that my bumpy hair shaft meant high porosity. Hope this helps.

2 wks into CGM & my hair is breaking off like crazy. I have a huge halo coming off my head. And I am being so so so cautious. Following all the rules. Sleep in satin ON satin. I can live w frizz. I have my whole life.. but the halo of hair that looks so damaged. Each wash it looks worse & worse & worse. Bout to stop the CGM
@TheFitCurls3 жыл бұрын
Girl seriously, if the CGM isn’t working for you, STOP!! I don’t follow the vast majority of the “rules” and my hair has gotten healthier! So if what you’re doing is making you feel worse, it’s not the right answer. Try something else 💛

Satin IS cotton, it just specific tipe of weaving cotton fibers
@TheFitCurls4 жыл бұрын
Actually it’s different fibers entirely! Satin is a weave, yes, but there are two kinds: polyester satin and silk satin. Cotton is absorbent, whereas polyester satin and silk fibers do not naturally absorb moisture or cause friction.
@ALT-vz3jn3 жыл бұрын
No it’s not. Satin is made from polyester or nylon
