I've been in a fairly modern sub and the doorways are pretty small. As a small person I can handle it, but anyone over 1.65 metres tall will struggle.

I can see what you mean about that. The fumes in a diesel-electric submarine are enough to suffocate you, the noise and vibration can drive someone insane after a while, and the smell of diesel fuel can stick to you as worse as coal dust - you wouldn't want to be smelling like diesel fuel for the rest of my life.

See its obsolete russian subs, maintained by the Chinese who are most known for cheap, horrible quality tools and machines, and used by albania...I tiny country with no comparable battle experience. This against the US who have had the most advanced and most number of submarines in the world since WWII. There were a couple scares with Russia but it turned out the super subs kinda sucked.

The whole country has been in war with much larger enemies for 1000 years. No western nation can even come close to having war in their blood as much as nations in the balkans do. Seeing the roof of that one sub completely rusted away makes me think that the fourth one rusted to the point of taking on water and sinking in place.

At on point the leader of North Korea threatened that "My fleet of sub will reduce the US carrier forces to scrap iron". Unfortunately (for him) Kim's word were "backed" primarily by obsolete Soviet designed boats like these. However, to be fair, some of the North Korean "Foxtrot"-class boats might have a slightly better paint job than these - even if they were built approximately 50 years ago.

it's surprising they are able to stand and walk over the subs without being swallowed into them, due to the hull collapsing under their feet. Ending up trapped inside those narrow, dark and rusty corridors would make for some trash horror movie. Perhaps with albanian skeleton sailors trying to bayonet them.
