@@hansdietrich83 no it's not. Saying The ukraine or the sudan is a reference to the BBC world service. Who, when countries that are not yet fully recognized as states. The idea is 'the sudan' references the land of sudan rather than a nation of sudan. It discredits the regime that is currently in charge by not giving them nationhood. Topgear has done this several times with several countries and i think it's them trying to point out that the gov in that country is corrupt, since Ukraine special was filmed just prior to the revolution/civil war i think they were trying to say the president was corrupt (and he was).
