Yes you can. You have to add an extender. There is a video on youtube where someone buys a 05 tacoma and changes its bumper to gen 2.5.

The trd pro grill for 05-11 Tacoma looks great but was a real pain in my ass. Weather strip that comes with it doesn't fit. No glue on planet earth holds it in place because, as I said, it's not even close the the proper shape. Get weatherstrip off Amazon. Don't even attempt..trust me
