Heidi, I totally agree! I've been stupidly smiling to myself during this whole past hour. The delightful and gorgeous interviewer (nice dress too) asked some really deep and intelligent questions in between the funny ones. The actors just oozed their love of the story and the life changing time making the movie. It was very well done! :)

Bob and Phoenix had such a great relationship in the movie. Bob started out very soft-spoken and shy, but it seemed everytime Hangman would insult Phoenix Bob would speak up to defend her. So it really seemed like they became good friends as they flew together and Bob became very protective of Phoenix which was really cute, lol.

Monica seems so cool, down to earth. What I like about her is that she isn’t some drop dead gorgeous woman. She’s a beautiful woman, but she’s approachable too. I don’t mean that as an insult. Not in any way. Some beautiful people (male or female) do seem to have that vibe of “I’m hot, don’t talk to me”. Monica doesn’t have that vibe. I really like her. Her personality is really nice AND she’s a GREAT actress.

I disagree as I thought the flashback scene was one of the most poignant moments of the movie. Sometimes when you say the least you say the most. Cruise's Maverick in that scene may me well up both times I've viewed the film and believe just his facial expression alone with the original scenes may finally win him that coveted best actor award. If he got over his emotional state and actually joined Rooster and the crowd for the song would have been a much less effective moment.

seen the movie 3 times since release, been watching interviews for the last 2 days and Ive not heard any mention of the scene at Iceman's house anywhere. That felt special for both of them. Iceman's character always being Mav's guardian angel, understanding who Maverick is, not just what he is. The weight of guilt that takes a toll on a man's soul, no matter how fast you fly, you can't outrun ghosts. The hug they share.. thats when the nostalgia and the passing of time hit me like a brick. It felt like such a raw, genuine moment of respect and admiration for both actors.. and sadness at the vagaries of fate.

@@keenenbenton9843 Yes, great example about the "Dark Knight" which was astounding on the big screen! It was the most intense 'Batman' and my favorite of them. Another film which seems to be very underrated in theaters was "Hunter Killer." It surpassed "The Hunt for Red October." There's been a handful of fantastic big screen films in the last dozen years, but this "Top Gun: Maverick" seemed to best them all, yet "Inception" is too different of a story & genre to truly compare so for me it's a major cinema signpost.

I have seen it fourteen times!! The love scene was classy. Great movie. Lots of emotions and action. I know the lines before they say them!! The actors are perfectly cast. Glenn Powell makes me laugh 😅.

I saw it early on the 24th, only showing that day, the audience did not clap. They were very stale. Kinda hurt the experience they were none responsive except for some small laughs. Overall, I think most of the people including myself were examining the film more than enjoying the flow of it. Disappointing audience experience for sure.

That’s too bad… maybe try and find the time to have a second experience and you may be immersed a bit more with a better audience. That worked for me even though I was die hard in love with it the first time around😂

@@etekplays4057 @EtekPlays Unfortunately opening weekend is over. Any screening now is going to have very limited number of people. Either way I very much enjoyed the film. I was actually more concerned with the sound which turned out incredible on Titan XC Dolby+IMAX Screen. Was just surprised by the audience but like I said I think most people like myself were there evaluating the film and it did not disappoint!!

@@Elemental_Entity well said!! I couldn’t agree more on the sound design for the movie, and not to mention Hans Zimmer’s take on the score

But nobody claps in theater anymore today, lol. Back then, the only way you could watch a movie and experience it was in the cinema theater. Today? People can watch it on Blu Ray or online streaming at home. The hype back then was high, not as today.

@@fabiandimaspratamathesecond Yes they do still clap. Especially at a first screening, if it's good. Opening weekend yes, they do. Not so much in following weeks. Last time I went to a theater premiere date people clapped. Regardless of streaming, that's irrelevant to theater reactions.

I saw this in the theaters 3 times with my son who is 9. He just watched the first one the day before this was in the theater and we went opening day. I only regret that I didn’t wear my flight suit or have my son wear his that I got him at the BX. There were about 10 people wearing them on opening day. This movie literally gave us everything we wanted and more. The three times I saw this movie the crowd applauded every time. I also yelled the admirals daughter as soon as Tom said Penny what are you doing here. The theatre went yes that’s genius. This gave you all of the feels and was cast perfectly. I don’t think he disliked a character at the start of a movie that I loved at the end like hangman and I’m glad he grew on us.
