I was waiting for your video 😁. I already bought the pattern and made a muslin (too large for me ) and learned to sew a fly with ITCH TO STITCH instructions (it was my first time, I was afraid 😲). I only missed some tips. It's done now 😀. So I gonna sew another muslin in a smaller size, slowly as you mentionned, and I hope i'll have a jean as nice as your's. I immediatly felt in love with these jeans when I received the newsletter of itch to Stitch. I made the Mountain pull on jean before but I think that the seam across the belly is not very confortable with jean fabric. Sewing slowly helps me to wait for my husband Who is still in Sénégal. Time go so slowly. .... Thank you for this video Karina. It's helps me a lot 👍👏💞

Technical aspects kept me from them. I never had a machine that could handle denim until I got my current one. I’m glad I got into them and they are similar to make... most brands, even the men’s ones are sewn the same.

That’s the thing about the muslin. It will help jean making turn into wins. The simple muslin takes no time at all to sew, compared to the full on Jean :)

Thank you so much 😊. That’s the thing about jeans. There are more pieces to them, so fixing them on the go is harder. That’s why the muslin is important. If it was me, I’d undo the majority of them and start over with a new size after making a muslin.

I loved this video! Thanks for explaining the fit. I just purchased this pattern and will make a muslin. I always mess up on bar tacks and was wondering if you have any videos explaining how you make them. I always make test ones which look fine and when I attempt on the fabric, maybe because of the layers or placement, mine look awful. Do you suggest using interfacing under them?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles4 жыл бұрын
I actually dislike bar tacks with passion for the same reasons. I only did them because this was a pattern test. Otherwise, on all the others, I have skipped them without a problem.

Can you post a video about making the buttonhole? My machines automatic program can’t handle the bulk even if I trim seam allowances aggressively and hammer them flat. I can’t fit the jeans in to do a classic version as I can’t turn them fully to complete it. I’ve been using bar tacs and zig zag to make one and I can’t find a method I really like. I know I could do it by hand. Love your channel! Thanks!
@LiftingPinsandNeedles2 жыл бұрын
I use my automatic function with my sewing machine and this one does the job without a problem. I can’t really recreate a problem with buttonholes that my machine does not cause and make a video on the topic. I’ve never made a hand sewn one before. I really don’t see how I can make a helpful video for your situation.
