Yes, definitely! Many people swear by Bennett Vectors, but they're hard to get in Australia

Nice deck concave and performance overall! I was wondering where I can source a piece of aluminum like you use for the tail? The opportunities seem endless - you can forge your own SDF, double-drop, a step for foot-wheel braking

Thank you! The rear bracket started out as a $25 flat piece of plate: www.ebay.com.au/itm/294309930907 (I'm sure you can find these even cheaper in the US). The trick is bending it how you want it. I probably didn't need to go with 10mm thick, because it required a floor jack and some elaborate shims, wedges and clamps to bend it (under the weight of the car). But I can rest easy knowing that vigorous pumping won't flatten it out again. Next time I'll find a mate with a hydraulic press!

@@DaveNZ3339 perfect, thank you, I also tend to overengineer and overprotect :) . Is it possible to forge it at all having it in a vice and sledgehammer over some mandrel-acting shape, at this thickness or only static sheer force with hydraulic press is advised?

I don't know how much heating aluminum changes its properties. Try reading up on annealing aluminum. I think it may make it harder (more brittle) but less flexible? With 10mm plate we probably don't need to worry about any strength losses through heating & bending

I'm in Brisbane, and my favourite path is along Kedron Brook. It goes for at least 15km and it's a pretty good surface. The new bike path along Kingsford Smith Drive is really smooth, just not very long.
