She’s a beauty for sure. I’m an o/o and own a 2015 T680. In 15 years of driving, its still the nicest truck I’ve driven. I’m jealous of the battery access door. Never understood why KW didn’t make that standard, given the basic design is already there with a separate panel. It’s a pain having to remove the whole step panel. Hope the headlights on the newer ones are better than the stocks on mine, it’s my only real complaint. Otherwise T680s are spectacular trucks to drive and live in. Well thought out and well put together. Thanks for the look at this one.

Still amazes me that new trucks are coming with drum brakes. Here in the UK and in Europe that's unheard of. All commercial vehicles have full disc brakes with ABS. Trailers still tend to have drum brakes but they're slowing being phased out.

@@Hoodamax my 2003 Freightliner classic came with discs all around i drive in Colorado and never had an issue whatever the temperature. I love disc brakes DOT never checks they last a very long time no maintenance or adjustment.

@@anthony1636 Kenilworth technician here, I can tell you drums are absolutely not a thing of the past. They're still an option for a reason, for one to replace drums and shoes you don't have to remove the hub like you do with discs to replace rotors and it's easier for owners to replace drums and breaks themselves if they do choose. Get used to seeing drums for a long while.

Wish I had that cool function on my 19. Those leather seats get hot when you sitting in them for 10 hours driving Interior hasn’t changed at all same exact. But everything works and good storage. Only wish our company took the top bunk out and added more cabinets instead

Jamie Ford!! Because the industry is pushing for mostly automatic transmission, which means they get to have more Rockies behind the wheel. Once you're a real trucker, or ever driven manual, it's hard to not be in control of your gears selection. Specially under rough and dangerous conditions.

@@jay300m04 You need to understand that big trucks do NOT have a synchronized transmission. This means that the Engine can spin at a different RPM than the transmission. The more gears you have, the smaller the RPM difference for each individual gear and the easier it is to find a gear that will spin the rear wheels (drives) at the same RPM as the engine. When RPMs between the engine and the tranny match, you will get the best power or economy. Most 10-speeds (the most common tranny) will have a wide RPM range which causes you to become "gear-bound" (unable to shift without a loss of power or economy). This is one reason why you will see trucks struggling on a hill (with speed limiters/governors being another).

Andy, could you please explain the airbag suspensions available? I hear 4 bag and 8 bag systems mentioned but not sure why one would want one over the other. Do more bags give a smoother ride, cost more, have greater load capacity, weigh more or less than leaf springs, etc. Thanks so much!

Very nice KW. I would choose a Different motor and Automatic Transmission. Sorry to say this but all Truck Refrigerators Suck. The Drawer style Refrigerators are those worst fro storage space. Try installing a 2 door separate Frig and Freezer that both have a lot of space. There are a lot of drivers out here that cook their own food and could use the bigger space for food. I would have also like to have seen the Emergency Access Doors in the back. I also don’t understand why the Emergency Access Doors don’t come Standard. That should by made an Automatic Safety Feature.

Great idea moving the exhaust stacks. I never understood the one outside next to the drivers seat, can see thru them when backing up. Also Kenworth is famous for the steering wheel covering the following gauges; oil, fuel ammeter, blinker indicator, both air tanks pressure gauges, speedometer and rpm gauge... unless you move the steering wheel to an awkward position.

Every t680 I've been in was a double bunk. I love the fuel mileage I get in my t680 but when I get ready to buy a new one I want a single bunk.

You can get a single bunk if you want. The mid roof has option for bunks too and storage.

Kenworth is working on refreshing each model one by one as we’ve done with the T8 80 the W9 90 and now the medium duty product line which is next to be done. I’m sure they’ll do a refresh on the 680 afterwards

Disc only works best when paired up to a trailer with disc. These guys pull company trailers with drum.

It messes up the emissions system. Better to install an APU.

He is not kidding ... I have a t660 with the EPA 10 Mx-13 I spent nearly $10,000 on emissions related repairs the first year when I was idling it overnight. I installed a used Thermo king Tri-Pak for $4000 and I have not needed to pay for a emissions related problem since then. Idling a PACCAR motor is the quickest way to kill it. Just don’t do it.

I would have spec'd disc brakes and a Cummins to make it actually a top of the line spec. The Paccar engine is good, I've just had better experience with Cummins.
