#heritage #mensstyle
There's not a lot on this subject on KZbin, the Heritage Men's Style, so here I am starting it for us so we can discuss it.
Many men's styles are focused on current trends but I found myself going back to this heritage style over and over again. If you are finding yourself coming back to this heritage way of style then embrace it and let's do it right together.
This channel is about boosting men's confidence, especially men in their forties or later. It also applies to any men, I mean real MEN that aren't afraid to wear what they want!
Please support and subscribe. If you are willing to go further and fund my heritage clothing adventure, please email me at chris.thomas.stone@gmail.com.

I really appreciate this brother. I'm 61 years old and will be 62 this year, and I stumbled upon this style on the Pinrest website and found that I really love it like the brother said to each his own. I'm breaking the norm in my culture. I'm African American, and the norm is Nike, joggers, skinny jeans etc, etc. For me It's not my cup of tea. I remember the old schools in my day wore heritage wear before it was known as such. I thought I was going through a midlife crisis, but I find I am very comfortable with it. My wife of 25 years loves it, and a young brother is 30 years old he think its bad ass. Thank you, brother. This affirms my belief to find out who you are and own it, especially for older guys like me. Heritage wear is saying lived life, and still living it.

YESSSSS!!!! I loved hearing this. My wife loves it as well. What about experimenting with beards/stach?

Oh yeah, I rock a full salt and pepper beard. I can't grow hair on my head anymore, so I shave it completely bald, but I grow enough hair 😅 on my face to make up for it 😅

Thank you brother for helping install confidence in folks. You are a good dude. after turning 50 and going through a messy divorce my confidence was shot. I had always loved heritage clothing and over the last 18 months or so been an obsessive boot enthusiast and my next purchase will be a nice pair of selvage jeans :) My confidence goes way up the moment I put my boots on

Cool thing about heritage style is there is a lot of variation to make it yours. It can go from working man look, to sport coat night out. Indigo selvedge looks good with a sport coat. I do agree, it is better to buy less but things with higher quality.

It helps to live in a colder environment so we can layer. I used to look forward to winter when I was living in Japan and Korea. I definitely need to clean my closet for this year to minimize my clothes. We will see haha! Thanks!

Good afternoon, wonderful video my friend. I have been purchasing heritage clothing for aa few years. I am my upper 60's now and I pay the money for quality because it last. I feel I am my own man but it is great to see your video here. This is the first one I have seen of yours. I feel like I have found a brother and kindred spirit. Take care, be well...peace...

Welcome brother and I’m glad you found me here! I definitely love this style and I am glad that there are more and more mature men going to this style. In my opinion, this style reflects our lives and that we deserve it. Many of us have given a lot to our families, friends, and country and it is now our time to pay ourselves by looking good and feeling good. Stick around, let me know of recommendations to cover and talk about. As long as it’s realistic, I’ll find a way to get it done. I often get recommendations about reviewing other products. That’s totally okay as long as it doesn’t break the bank haha!!

Besides the jeans and boots, what sort of shirts do you consider Heritage Style? I’ve got the jeans and boots, but I feel like it’s hard to find suitably matching shirts. Also, say you want to dress it up a bit; like, for a date night or a job interview? I’m 42 now and I’m looking to add a blazer or sports coat to my look, but I’m not sure what would pair with my selvedge denim and heritage boots.

Wouldn’t all collard shirts work with denim and boots as long as the boots are basic like no cap toe or wedge sole

I usually roll with western shirts with the pearl snaps when I need to look a little more "dressy"

Sorry for the late reply! I think I replied to some of your comments already. I usually wear one color no design shirts. Sometimes I like my shirts larger and sometimes tight. I've used collared shirts (polo) to dress up my selvedge. Wearing a white button up shirt is pretty badass as well. I wore selvedge and dress shoes with a jacket at my daughter's college graduation and it felt good. But then again, I also rock suits on occasion. For job interviews, it depends on the job in my opinion and sometimes it is worth to dress accordingly if you want to be hired of course. For places that are cooler in the winter, it is definitely nice to see others wear a nice heritage jacket to complete the look. There are different kinds of taste when it comes to jackets so you can really play with it. I used to rock a Sailor's heavy weather coat when I lived in Japan and it looked very cool and kept me warm.

How does selvedge denim especially at a higher weight wear in hot and humid climates like Hawaii?

It’s okay especially when I’m out riding. Summer can get blistering hot so I try not to wear the heavy duty ones. Some people don’t mind it though.

I have certainly thought of that jacket. I think the only thing holding me back is the hot weather here in Hawaii. I don’t get to wear my heritage clothing much because of that but I will be traveling soon enough so maybe you’ll get to see me wear that jacket soon!
