Today, I want to cover the top remedies for a UTI. I have an older video on this topic, but I wanted to update it with some new information.
A UTI stands for urinary tract infection. This could be in the lower part, as in a bladder infection, or the upper part, which could be more of a kidney infection.
The most common pathogen involved with a UTI is E.coli. Normally, in our bodies, E.coli isn’t harmful-it’s neutral. But, a change in the environment it lives in can cause it to become pathogenic.
A few things that can lead to E.coli becoming pathogenic:
• High glucose
• High estrogen (pregnancy or ovulation)
• Antibiotics (especially quinoline)
• Intercourse (cross contamination)
• Low estrogen (decreased vaginal flora)
• Catheters
Natural remedies for a UTI:
1. Buchu
• Antimicrobial
• Anti-adhesive (may prevent bacteria from attaching and accumulating)
• Decreased risk of infection (in the bladder, prostate, or urethra)
• Can act as a natural diuretic
2. Cranberry
• Anti-adhesive (may prevent bacteria from attaching and accumulating)
• Decreased biofilms
3. Uva ursi
• Can act as a natural diuretic
• Antimicrobial
4. Juniper
• Antimicrobial for the bladder and kidneys
5. Do fasting (1-2 days)
6. Cut out carbs and sugar

My ex-husband's great aunt had had a stroke and was confined to a wheelchair in a care home. They didn't check for UTIs regularly, and she may not have been able to feel any discomfort. The infection ended up in her blood and she died from it. UTIs don't start out serious, per se, but they certainly aren't little things to ignore.

I found a remedy a decade ago, that works 100% for me.. I was travelling when the burning need to urinate hit.. didn’t want to miss my flight and all I had was my activated charcoal capsules.. I opened one onto my panty liner making sure it touched skin.. pain gone in seconds.. didn’t even have to repeat it when I got home.. tried it again years later; same success.. this really works for me.. blessings.

I am a Guy who had a UTI (TURP surgery with catheter?). I passed out cold in my hallway of my home, my Wife called 911, emergency trip to hospital, I spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital (Bill for that was $21,000.00). I am grateful BUT - I did ask my Urologist for antibiotics BEFOREHAND and was turned down. Moral of the story: it nearly cost me my life / $21,000.00 / 2-1/2 days of serious torture in a mediocre hospital just to get 9 tablets of 500MG Ciprofloxacin.

I’m using diagnox pee sticks and nitrites and leukocytes remain high even after fasting and trying Dr Berg recommendations. I have no pain or frequent urination. The only way I knew I had one was the odor and low grade temps, both of which are also gone, but the pee sticks still show nitrites and leukocytes. Any suggestions?

I had endometriosis and wasn't diagnosed until I was 39 and had a ruptued ovarian cyst and severe pain like appendicitis. Was told it was " all in my head" ! went through 2 Gynocologists ! Finally a General Surgeon diagnosed me in the hospital. I ended up with a full hystorectomy in 1987 because I had so many adhesions attached in side my abdomen from endometriosis and it took 5 hours for surgery and to clean out the adhesions ! Don't let doctors play with your mind. It's real !

WOW... this info could have change my life if I would have known this. My first infection was when I was 12 year old and I am now 83. War time we were starving. Starvation means having occasional potato, cooked corn which were meat to feed livestock, stolen fruit and vegetables when in season. Rarely any meet but when hungry some sugar and we were hungry all the time. Over the decades had many occurrences' and much antibiotics.

Got cranberry pills along with a supplement with all of the other goodies you mentioned in this video for my UTI. After a few impatient days, I remembered that one of your other videos mentioned that garlic gets rid of E-Coli. So I brewed a cup of peppermint tea, added 20 drops of cloves, and minced 2 cloves of fresh garlic and let that steep for about 10 min. Then I strained it into the last bit of my electrolyte/wheat grass juice drink for flavour and shook it all up. After 3 cups (evening, morning, and noon) of this magic tea, my UTI is GONE!!! Thank you, Dr. Berg! AmaZING!!!

Grapefruit seed extract drops in water will help quickly- it’s antibacterial and anti fungal as well. Good luck- horrible thing that women get often and so easily ignore the ignorant mansplainers here who spent 5 seconds on Google and think they’re experts on women’s bodies without a second of lived experiences in them unlike us with 20+ years in them 24/7. They’re also stupidly ignorant about how short the urethra is for women and how much easier it is for women to get UTIs.

My bladder had fallen, I was told that a bladder sling was needed. A nutritionist suggested white oak bark. Within 30 days my bladder is backwards supposed to be and I did not have to have a bladder sling. If I have any issues I take it again till the problem clears. And my go to for urinary infections is a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar and a juice glass every 30 minutes till the symptoms disappear and then I take it throughout the rest the day but not as frequently. Get up the next morning symptoms are there but not as much I do that again throughout the day and it’s gone. Balances the ph. Fastest way for me to take care of a urinary infection. If I keep my pH balanced I do not have infections

I use D Mannose and it clears it up a treat. It even worked after I picked up a particularly nasty one in hospital after an operation, which 2 rounds of antibiotics hadn't shifted. I wouldn't touch antibiotics or any medication now.

I used a sachet of Citravescent ( from my locale pharmacy in my country ) which is in the form of effervescent granules. Usually 1 sachet in a glass of water will do. The painful burning just went away.

Hi Dr. Berg. I had a really bad UTI. Labs came back positive for E.Coli infection. Pain in my kidneys. Prescribed Ciproflixacin twice a day for 7 days. I felt better by the 3rd day but noticed I would feel sick after taking each dose of Ciproflixacin. My legs start to hurt especially at night while sleeping, shoulder pain, severe nightmares, fatigue. I couldn't take it anymore so I stopped taking Ciproflixacin on the 6th day. I had one day to go but I just couldn't finish it. My Urinary Tract is fine now but I still feel tenderness in my kidneys. I don't have insurance, I pay out of pocket so I'm trying to eat healthy, drink 2.5 liters of water, and exercise. Your videos have really helped me get on the path to a healthier life style. Thank you so much!

Dr. Berg thank you so much for your knowledge! What are your thoughts on emerging bugs such as Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma? A lot of people do not know about these bugs even though they have been known about for decades. Often times people with symptoms get tested for STDs and other "typical" bacteria and are told nothing was found. A lot of doctors do not think these bugs need to be treated, particularly Ureaplasma, even though they can and do cause so many people to suffer. They are also not tested for unless specifically requested which doesn't make sense to me. With all the talk of antibiotic resistance these days you would think these bugs would be investigated and researched more due to doctors' ignorance and incorrect diagnosing and incorrect treatment being given to the patient. Would love to see a video on this topic!

I know very well the symptoms of UTI. Thanks to Dr. Berg as soon as it starts I have my Oregano oil and I take 2 drops in water, about an inch of water and no kidding it’s gone. The bottle does say 6 drops and I did that that the first time but it caused my heart to accelerate. Two drops cleared up the uti immediately. I am so greatful for your help. I was always living on antibiotics but no more. Now onto my thyroid, are you laughing

this is quite common in older patients addicted to carbs and sugars, all avoidable with a proper diet .. + less costly to eat well and ditch the junk .. wish I would have known more about organic olive oil (for salads), as most of our clients really rave about our organic salad options .. they cannot fathom how come they taste so great, & how quickly they recover.

I have since maintained some controlled for years with what natural methods I could find, however, it has taken a toll on my kidney function. Hope this will clear things up. P.S.
