Am I human? I don't feel human. I look around me and see the other beings around me which call themselves human and I see that I am not like them. I look like they do and I sound like they do but I do not speak as they do, I do not think as they do, I do not act as they do, my spirit is different than theirs. I know I am not as they are and those who are familiar with me know it too. My body is not old but my spirit feels as though it has been bound to this world for an eternity. I watch the world unfold around me and I can't escape the feeling that every story has already been told and with each retelling it is only the places and the names that change. I feel like every life has already been lived, every name has already been given, and every death has been repeated. What am I?

Hare Krsna ! Every living entity is a spirit soul. You are in a human body, so you are (dis) associating yourself to be a human. But your real identity is that you are part and parcel of the God.

@@pleasingKrishna. Is feeling disassociated from my human body as I do a blessing or a punishment? My condition leaves me in a constant struggle to make meaningful connections with the people around me. I barley feel connected to my own body so making connections with other people can seem impossible. Unless they suffer from the same state of being as I do. I have found others some others who feel as I do. Like many thing though, my condition isn't inherently bad either. I have a unique perspective on the world around me and feeling in a constant state of displacement has allowed me to open my mind and broaden my perspective beyond the confines of my own being. My eyes have been opened to the world beyond my own perception. Which in itself is a blessing and a hindrance. I am able to sympathies with and understand other beings in greater depth and variety than other people but I also find myself in a state of constant conflict with those who are narrow minded. I can't comprehend how some people can be so narrow mind, I don't understand how they can live their life with such a small window to view the world around them. So have I received a blessing or have I been cursed?

Hare Krishna !! I consider that as You , having a blessing in disguise. Not every human being actually asks these kind of questions. They are happy with repeatedly eating, sleeping, mating and defending. They think that is their purpose of life. Where as you are asking the right questions.
