Crazy how many areas of the lane were used. What a tough shot.

I quit bowling in 2006 when I thought the game got to be to easy and I averaged 219 and knew I was not all that good. used to be a huge deal if you averaged 200

just to follow up I started bowling in the 1950"s when I was 9 years old. I recall that in 1966 there was a total of 23 300 games in Detroit, which at the time had the most sanctioned bowlers in the USA, In 2006, the last year I bowled, there were 35 300 in the league I bowled in. total of 90 bowlers. I don't even enjoy watching on tv anymore. I used to love to bowl and a few years I bowled in 4 leagues a week. the equipment has overpowered the conditions

Couldn’t agree more, Carl. I’ve also said the same thing about 900s. The sport went 90 years without a sanctioned 900 and now we have 30 of them. The average joe has no clue how easy the lanes are compared to what the pros are bowling on. I’m not saying equipment and technology shouldn’t evolve, but it shouldn’t have been allowed to destroy the sport that we know and love.

Agreed that the sport has become far too easy. It's all about power now. Equipment has advanced way too far as well. Players have a ball for any shot imaginable, big block urethane filled the last void there was. I think pros should be allowed 2 balls per tourney and that's it. Make the players make major physical adjustments on every condition instead of a ball change.

It's so easy now a days to shoot 300 or 800. I have gone several times shooting 290+ and gotten bounced from brackets. I gave it up in 2003 and still don't regret it.

@@galejenkins102 @Craig Einstein oh sorry he placed 1 single time using a resin ball for half of a single tourney. Any more examples or can you just say for a pro he's a 1 trick pony who shoots down the 1 arrow with urethane 99.99% of the time? Take away big block urethane and he never wins a pro tourney in his career.
