I've played all the games except for Code Veronica and Zero, and I'm going to be controversial here and say that Revelations 2 (not the Vita port) is one of my favorites. The story and atmosphere are definitely lacking compared to the main titles, but I don't know, I just found it to be a lot of fun.

I agree. I liked Revelations 2 as well. Honorable mention! I hated it on ps vita but liked it when I played it on switch. Was like an entirely different game when you can actually see what's going on haha

I think of Revelations 2 as the actual RE6. I even remember after playing RE5 the kind of stuff I'd like to see in the next game, and Revelations 2 was exactly that! Even the return of Claire! I would have liked for Jill and Ada to have been in also, to finally see some interplay between the female characters, but maybe that's for Revelations 3...

As a huge fan of the original 3 games and yes even tank controls I admit I went into R.E. 4 almost not wanting to like it but damn after the first few encounters in the game I was hooked! Love that game.

I wish Capcom would split the series up. Like have a team that does RE games using pre-rendered graphics like in RE1 remake and another team that does RE games in full 3D environments like the RE2 remake. That way we can get both🙂

I agree Capcom should of followed the RE remake mechanics. Re2 remake great, only flaw was there were things cut out or changed. RE3 remake looked good but didnt add up like RE1 or RE2 was more scripted and shortened. Future RE remakes need to follow the original scripts, just a few tweaks and updated graphics and im sure alot of us would be happy

I don't agree with that. As a person who didn't played the games back in their realized time, I really hate tank controls so I thank whoever is above for not including tank controls in Re2 and Red remakes XD

I also think RE 6 is an awesome action game. I’ve completed it 4 or 5 times now, on each character. RE 5 is my favourite, I’ve completed that game, 7 or 8 times! Both are good action games. Sure they ain’t scary, well RE 5 had it’s scary moments, like when you first met the lickers!

The only way I could see nemesis running after you without being scripted is if they completely overhauled the running mechanic which they’re probably weren’t going to do since it would require a completely new engine. Oh well, for what it’s worth despite the complaints I thought it was a worthy remake.

resident evil revelations 1 deserves a honor mention, is a good mix between re4 and re1 my top 5 will be: 5 - RE 7 4 - RE Revelations 1 3 - RE remake 2 - RE 2 remake 1- RE 4 (I never played the code Veronica, I'm waiting for the remake)

I grew up with RE 1 - 3 on the PS1. RE4 was a huge step down for me honestly. I can not understand it when people consider RE4 their favorite in the series.

I just finished RE 3 and I liked it a lot more than my original playthrough, probably because the original game was still fresh in my mind.the remake misses far too many great places out. And because it is rushed nemesis is rushed. the game is perfect for someone with a couple hours to kill. I hope for a director's cut to fill the gaps. Like longer journeys to certain places lto explore the city a lot more. as the game to me is about racoon city, And you don't explore it as much as I'd like.

Not nearly as good as 5. It has better action controls. But it's way over the top, and if RE5 doesn't resemble RE's essence, RE6 isn't a RE game at all.

I’m RE OG player completed all RE 1-6 I refuse to play RE 7-8 due to 1st person games I hate them. But I absolutely agree that No1 is RE 2 remake it’s the best survival horror out of them all but RE 4 is the none scariest I’ve played just farmer with pitchforks lol and very over exaggerating to the point it’s actually one of my worst I’ve played. 💯👍🏼

I don't know how 5 and 8 made it to your list but not 7 but what ever each and their tastes! For the list goes like this: RE1/Remake.. Still the best remake of any game. It's hard make you think and didn't need a stalker! Code Veronica.. A weird story but still the RE that sums all classic REs RE4 The most fun RE to play.. RE0 RE3 "Nemesis" RE2 Remake.. It felt more RE3 that the new RE3 RE5.. I played it in local co-op so it was pretty good apart from the story toward the end! RE3.. Easy to go back to and finish it in one go... Pretty arcady! RE7..50% good , %50 Trash, it starts pretty good turn into a boring mess in the second half (after beating the mom) RE8.. Most of it felt empty! Best part starts after beating the fishman and ends before Heisenberg fight!

I was expecting RE5 to be like RE4 but following the RE0 system but I was kinda disappointed but I played the whole game in local co-op so it wasn't bad!

I was actually 3 years oldt he first time I played resident evil, was the first game ive ever touched of any kind, it belonged to my father, it's funny cause it wasn't even scary, cause i had no idea on what was goin on, i just limited my self to move the character lmao

I don’t think the RE games are even that scary to me (this is coming from someone with anxiety problems) but personally I really don’t understand much of the hate that spawned in the RE3 remake which imo looks pretty fun once it goes on a good sale and I would be much happier if I paid 20 bucks for it instead of 60 bucks.
