CP being angry is an understatement. They are losing a ton of money on the attraction not being open. Not only that, this will delay future development. I believe Fury's crack is the reason Carowinds got nothing for 2024.

It's true. I live in Charlotte. I Know a source i cannot name. Our camp snoopy additions were supposed to be for this year. The crack and the bad publicity is what had our future investments all pushed back a year from their original planning.

As Director of Communications, Tony Clark knows the importance of language. He said " this won't be a summer long thing". The last day of summer is September 22nd. If it opens by Sep. 21st, Tony told the truth. The radio silence indicates to me that CP/Zamperla will need all of that time to re-open it.

I am planning to go to Cedar Point, July 11th. Fingers crossed that Top Thrill 2 will be open then but it is most likely not going to be open with how long it has been down. Thanks Goaster Coaster for all the updates to keep the community up to date. Keep up the AMAZING work

I've been waiting all year... I'm not making that drive until they reopen TT2. It's like an 8 or 9 hour drive for me. I'm already aggravated that I'm gonna have to visit a six flags park lol .. something I swore I'd never do again... But lucky me... The cheap bastards own my two favorite amusement parks now 🤦😂

Same dude. My flight is already booked the day of the closure and if I cancel my flight I get credit but it expires on May 2025. So basically if they don’t get their shit together I’ll go to a different park altogether. I’m not making a trip all the way to CP just to be told I can’t ride the 420 foot elephant in the room

@@fishels3895 Yeah it sucks... I mean, by all accounts it's great when it runs. But, I was one of the first guys waving the warning flag when I started hearing it was Zamperla doing it. Not that they're a terrible company or anything.. this was just WAY out of their league. I'm hoping they'll finally have it right when it reopens, but I'll be honest... It's not looking to me like a reopening this season is very likely, especially not with the new markings.. obviously they're going to have to do some work in the area with electrical/communications... which means they're probably gonna have to tear up the ground in that plaza where the markings are, etc. If whatever that's for has to be done before a reopening... I'd expect it's probably gonna be next season before we get a reopening. What really pisses me off is the lack of communication. They're keeping us in the dark, that's never a good thing. Transparency is always best.

@@Frankenberry i totally agree with you. And it’s quite upsetting that Tony Clark said it wasn’t an all summer long thing, yet when the news is not good like you point out they are quiet. This tells me something failed in their fix/or something else wrong and that they are going to be quiet to stop people from canceling trips. Really scummy in my opinion as I believe you are correct something else has happened to the ride that is devastating. I hope I’m wrong

could the markings be for infield lockers? I guess the question is did the fix work, and are we waiting on fabricated pieces to match the welded ones? Or is it back to the design board? Is the train damaging the stators? Also if there are survey markers does that mean they have time to perform some kind of construction before it reopens. I hate to be negative, but I am thinking 2025

​@@austintayloradt I doubt it would be this as it's not guaranteed it'll be up and running reliably going forward as they haven't even started testing yet. I doubt they would put any more unnecessary money (even for lockers) into the ride until it's proven to be reliable at this point.

as a season ticket holder my hope is it's up by August. No rush for me as it should be safe first and foremost. When my family went on Preview Weekend for Prestige Passes we all love it !! can't wait to ride it again

My first trip to CedarPoint since somewhere between 2010 and 2012 is scheduled for August 7th through august 10th of this year! I've been putting off getting back here, when back in the day i used to go evey 2 years. TT2 is what incited me to start going back so I reaaallly am hopeful it will be ready by then. I always try to stay at a CP resort so i dont go often because i always want the full experience. And as much as I'm paying for 3 nights, I really really hope everything including TT2 is up and running well.

Rode on 10 May. First public train of the day (thanks fast lane+). It closed that night about 30 mins before the park closed (when I tried to reenter the line) and has been down since.

We have till whenever they decide to open it to be fair its not on us to decide - they’ve spent 2 months marketing this as open which it hasn’t been, no updates before people made their treck to the park on 4th of july weekend (scroll the comments theres people asking daily is it opening) and the park decided radio silence to bring in the crowds for the weekend with no updates for a month was a good idea - we discussed it and rumors on reddit. Idk thats why we uploaded lol

I’m just trying to keep an audience as informed with whats semi seeable work tbh - i don’t know much, the few people I do know with actual experience in the engineering department or rides departments kind of break down my questions for me so i can make as informed videos as possible, but trust me i have no clue and i try to be super clear with these videos like hey guys this is just discussion Cedar Point is the only official source and we try not to speculate cause it doesn’t do any good. I enjoy having the conversation with people about it. I’d love to see it open next week, love to see it open august, 2025 - its all good with me, we’re just trying to figure out why its been so quiet with no tests and people are saying its going to possibly reopen the 13th… i don’t see how but we’d love to be wrong

@@GhosterCoasters , it’s our parks marketing department and ride operations. They probably either don’t have any new information to release or they don’t have enough ride ops to run the ride fully during such a busy holiday week.

Marketing should have shifted the focus from tt2 to the parks summer nights among other offerings instead of hammering home ride tt2 all summer and nobody being able to, and if its an ops thing thats 100% on them nobody else. I get the not having new information to release part fully though, can’t say what you don’t know. Still think its more than fair to put out a statement on a busy holiday weekend reminding people that tt2 remains closed for the time being. Would have taken 10 mins to draft up and post and clear the way for anyone wondering before going - which many have complained about the uncertainty of the ride. I don’t necessarily agree, i get it rides go down and we didn’t purchase our passes for tt2, but others did and they have a fair reason to ask or wonder about updates. To be clear i’m not arguing with you, I see all of your points here just seems easy to qualm a lot of these questions.

I was at the park for three days leading to the 4th of july and during thebfirst two days i noticed they didnt have the wheels on. They also had no music playing in that area other than the usual music you'd hear throughout the rest of the park. Last day there they had the music fornthe ride playing AND i saw some workers in the area around where the vehicles were sitting. I know its a bit of a stretch to hope but i feel they might have some good news here soon in the best case scenario. Otherwise it's obvious the ride may be closed for the rest of the season.

I blame CP for this terrible mess. They had the whole winter and part of spring to have figured all that out. They simply dropped the ball. They are paying all this money for a coaster that they can’t even use. The summer will be gone before you know it. If I could bet, this damn coaster may not be reopened until next season. It’s all CP fault. They should have been testing and testing the damn thing and repaired it BEFORE the season started. The money that they are losing is probably huge. All because some idiot, or idiots, didn’t do their job correctly! Peace.

I said the same thing. I think they were trying to save on operating cost once the initial testing was done but i said the same. They should've kept regular testing from winter all the way through spring. They dont open until may so that would have gave them plenty of time if they were able to find they had problem within 2 weeks of fully open operations. Terrible. Just terrible.

@@cedricscott6622 - You get no disagreement from me! You are right. They had some months when all of that could have been figured out. Some people have come from distances just to ride that coaster. CP has no excuse, as far as, I am concerned. The last report that I read is that they are still working on it. However, I get that CP wants a safe and reliable coaster. Yes, by all means. Safety is number 1 priority. I get that! I really do! How much will it take. As I stated in my comment, I bet that it will be down until the season ends. CP will put out a statement that they are sorry to their many guests who had anticipation of riding this coaster. But the coaster will be up and running in May of 2025. Watch what I tell you. CP will continue to be a very popular park to visit. Still, Top Thrill 2 was something that many guests wanted to ride. It’s a shame. However, it will have its day in the further. Would of never thought it would be 07/14/24 and still NO word from the park. What the bleep? It's become extremely apparent the park knows this ride will be down all season. They know there are thousands of people who planned a trip to come ride it. Booked my trip in early April. Haven't been in 5 yrs. and TT2 was the primary reason for my brother and I visiting. There are still several other parks we should visit for credits before making our way back to CP. But wanted to see what they did with Top Thrill. So we said bleep it let's make sure we get there this summer. Planned it for the 3rd week of August on purpose. Figured by then they would of worked out any of the bugs. Going Monday through Wednesday. Can't believe they don't have the integrity to just be honest with their customers. I am still going to visit their unbelievable park regardless if it's open or not. This is the best coaster park in the country. Pretty sure majority of people feel the same way if they have already booked. Just would be nice to get a little communication. Their lack of it just shows money is once again more important than integrity. I really hope they make me eat my words. I will gladly apologize while getting in as many rides as possible.

I think the same thing sometimes but honestly with what happened at shoot the rapids and much prior to that perilous plunge, and then having to redo maverick just before opening because of an element that was too forceful and intamin with all of their design technology didn't forsee that, i get it. That's why I like having multiple park companies. We could still get intamins at six flags's etc. Now that they are merged and the cedar fair folks are spearheading the game, six flags may not be getting intamins for a while too. Though i do prefer Cedar Fair spearheading than the ole six flags folks. But competition is always better for us consumers. And now for region parks there's not much competition left.

If its not open by 8/1 at latest it will be a total loss for the season because at that point the majority of trip takers already have come and gone. People begin to go back to college and get ready for school to start back up. They really already missed the busiest holidays and largest attendance increase potential by it being closed. This will not go well for Zamperla in the future as purchases from Six Flags Entertainment is concerned. They will put them on the problematic vendor list for sure. This is going to be hard for CP to recover from considering this ride was a maintenance nightmare for 18 years in its previous life.

First, I have several degrees', including Mech. Engineering, senior engine at "GM" relating to machining, gears, gear design and geometry (hence your transmission), managed machining, engine build, engineering for a major Nascar Team, as well senior engineer at Boeing, built "cars and planes" my entire life, applications that include the Moon and Mars. The" grade" of Aluminum used in this application is critical. Today's "engineers" are nothing more than "cad guys", hence creating drawings at a computer, LACK all the technical "stuff". The welding process, and again the grade of aluminum used, this relates to "steel" components and how they are welded equally. Large diameter wheels with "lighting holes" that create stress, and again the grade of aluminum used in this application. Bearing selection is critical, similar to buying a Ford verses a Chevy,lol. In reality there are few "moving parts" on this ride, especially when you view the physical size. It's a FINANCIAL disaster obviously,,,"CP" should have a "tech" guy on staff to review the above features prior to the actual "build"...they went "cheap!

Appreciate it, you have "billet" aluminum, which is common in today's world, the grade should have been "7075" verses the lesser and more common "6061", hence cheaper. The wheels are larger diameter with "lighting holes" which appear cool in appearance, but weakens the side wall of the wheel. Understand there is steel involved, again the cheap, most common grade would be 1018/1020, which would be incorrect, an alloy as 4140 should have been used. Maybe not the issues, but there is little there actually as far as "materials". Proper bearing selection would be critical. Obviously, it's a serious issue and embarrassment....would like to see the drawings and when it was manufactured.
