I think it’s going to be down for the year it’s already about to be July once the fall starts the weather won’t be good enough to run it constantly because of how tall it is.

I was super happy they chose zamperla before..... and im even happier now. Also, couldnt be more excited they went with premier for canadas wonderlands new coaster as well Nothing like the biggest chain in the business going dumpster diving for flagship rides in their parks.

This is going to be a very unpopular thought, BUT I would rather them do it right, do it safely, and be a completely finished product than then rush it, and it breaks down again, even if it means it not reopening until next season! Do it right or not at all! I can be patient and wait until it is running continuously WITHOUT difficulty!

I have a CP trip planned for August and I hope the ride is open. I don't know why CP makes everything a secret, it's really irritating. I would like to see more transparency from them.

If Only #CedarFair would do ANYTHING NEW at Michigan's Adventure ! I have lived within an Hour of it My whole life . As a boy I loved it when it was "Deer Park Funland" (with Lots of Deer roaming around a section with picnic tables across a fence) , having barely anything other than the Railroad , twister and The Corkscrew Coaster (I think it's still as it was then). 'Thunderhawk' was transplanted from somewhere else in 2008 ... N O T H I N G at All since then . ;-( When Cedar Fair took over the park , over 20 years ago, lot's of rumours said C.F. only bought it to prevent Mich. Adv. from growing too much. With their lack of doing Much of Anything to put New Rides in, that seems true... Of course it will Stay Cedar Fair's Smallest Park unless C.F. brings New things to Attract Customers . It makes Me kinda sad at their Lack of effort. I have not gone for nearly 20 years but am curious to ride Thunderhawk. Thank You #GhosterCoasters for bringing Light to this issue.

It is time to stop being positive. They opened a dangerous ride. They used a bad manufacturer. They have a bad general manager. This is Ring Racer 2 till they prove otherwise.

I am all for safety - if there was a concern about safety with the ride, then I'm okay with any amount of downtime to ensure that the ride is safe for everyone. I do agree with several of the commenters though - any time an issue happens with ANY ride, I think that parks should be legally required to disclose what the issue is. There is nothing more frustrating than being at ANY amusement park and having them say a ride is down for "maintenance" but no other information is provided. It's similar to plane travel - if a flight is delayed due to "maintenance", I think it should be required to disclose the nature of the issue. I realize that this doesn't change anything with regard to the fix being done, but it at least gives customers a better understanding of what's happening and what they can expect. Here's to hoping that, whatever the issue is, it is fixed soon and people can enjoy the new ride experience. On a side/personal note - I hope that they will be adding seat belts. I was, frankly, alarmed that they weren't on the new trains. While they are considered a "redundant" safety measure, it was a bit unnerving going over the top hat and thinking "if these lap restraints fail, there is nothing holding me to this train"... Even the Mine Ride has seatbelts...

Zamperla: “our new lightning trains are lighter faster better and will be sent over the top hat with ease every time.” Unfortunately, The truth is starting to surface. It won’t be reopening this year. And it’s a damn shame cedar point leaves its fans in the dark like they do. And why they are still advertising tt2 is beyond me. Yes you can file a lawsuit for false advertising. It’s NOT OPEN! it’s DONE!

I’m a lifetime CP fan. I grew up in the area, have been pro CP all my life, but this has me feeling some type of way. I have lost a LOT of faith in their decision making. As much as I hate to admit it, they’re running out of bridges to burn, and we all know how they love to do that. I have always said that in my personal opinion, Zamperla was a terrible choice for this project, and I stand by that opinion now more than ever. Cedar Fair should’ve known better. I understand they like to take risks, but this is one that just didn’t make sense and now they (and we) are paying the price. This is far beyond “downtime”, there is something seriously wrong, and in true Cedar Point fashion they’re keeping everyone in the dark and just pretending like nothing is even wrong. I’m running out of reasons to defend them and that makes me very sad.

I’m here right now and staying on property. I’ve seen no action at TT2 since we’ve been here.

CP should not be providing any labor for the manufacture mess up with the design of the train. Adena on sight is very interesting. I heard that the transition to the spike from the launch track was a big issue because of the stress put on the wheel carriers. I wonder if they might make modifications to the coaster track during the offseason.

It's time to start demanding answers from both Cedar Fair and Zamperla regarding what's going on with this.

I commend everyone involved with Top Thrill 2 for their diligence at (1) detecting the problem and (2) working toward resolving the situation. Just imagine if one of the new Zamperla Lightning trains had derailed on the Top Thrill 2 circuit at maximum velocity with riders on board! 😮 Thankfully, the park, maintenance and Zamperla detected the issue and shut down TT2 before anyone was injured or killed. We must be patient as all parties work together to resolve the issue(s) with TT2. 🙏🏽

I think it is better for the people who are fixing the ride to take their time when fixing a ride so that the ride runs smoother next time. Depending on off it is an old ride.

I just hate how everyone is treating this like it’s the end of the world. Yes it sucks that it’s been closed for a while and might now open for a bit still, but that’s the kind of stuff that’s gonna happen with a prototype attraction. I’m also guessing they’re getting all of the issues ironed out during this closure so they won’t need an extended closure like this again

I have to wonder if the lightning trains were a complete failure. If it is just wheel carriers then why bother to continuously remove seats? I can't spot any seatbelt additions and and the ops really seemed to be adamant about stapling when I got my rides in. I can't see those being necessary. Plus, there are rumblings about the old intamin trains being back in Cedar Point's maintenance shop. I would like to think that these old trains can be used at other Six Flags properties, like how Darien Lake needs a 2nd train for their hyper, but who knows. I have wondered about a Halloweekends reopening from the start of the closure, and so far we are on pace for that to be what happens. If it gets to that point, would the park just consider shelving the attraction until the 2025 season? I dunno. Sure would suck though.

I don't really get how coasters work, but what I do know is that top thrill 2's launch system is much more reliable than the hydraulic launch system. So what I don't understand is why they're already experiencing so many issues. I feel like some people must have screwed up here.

I wanted to visit CP this year for my birthday. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to and have had to delay my trip to next year. Everything happens for a reason!

I think it’s BS they can’t release a statement on at least what the issue is. That would at least satisfy most people that are hating on CP and Zamperla…and even give some piece of mind that it wasn’t a safety issue for the riders (if that’s the case) but something that needed to be fixed to give a better ride experience and help with the longevity of the trains. IMO, let’s quit with the keeping everything a secret… we all know there is an issue.

It's beyond my comprehension why people will continually rebuild in flood prone areas when they know it will eventually happen again, almost always at taxpayer expense. Build the park, but just not where it will flood. That's painfully obvious.

TT2 was either going to be a massive hit or a massive flop, and it's a massive flop. Cedar Point cheaped out by going with zamperla which is basically the dollar general of coaster manufacturers. They need to call in Intamin and get it done correctly because theyre practically spending more money trying to fix the ride than it would be just having Intamin doing it correctly. Cedar point went in fully knowing that the trains are prototypes and haven't been used before (To my understanding). They really need to stop cheaping out because this is supposed to be their main Icon attraction at the park (You can see it from miles away!!) They should not be cheap out on something to this scale, especially from a very inexperienced manufacturer.

Sorry if you said this and I'm no engineer. But do you think the fact that the trains sit much further off the track than the old trains could be the problem? Not only is it going over the top had faster (that along would create extra track stress on the vertical spiral), but with the extra speed over the top and higher center of gravity, that has to be putting way more stress on that downward spiral track.

I am from road island and I got prestige passes to go on July 4 just for that ride a few months ago. I hope they make up somehow because I spent a lot of money.

I am one to say that patients is key and let's not rush them because we want a safe ride and reliable if anything goes wrong with the manufacture they might want to consider bringing in someone else

Smart reasoning on the fact that if it was down for summer, we'd know. No point in angering guests to a greater degree if it's a done deal. I'm optimistic, but fact remains whatever the case, the ride needs work and if the ride comes back right, all will be well with it, whatever the future holds.
